I've no use for such crap anyway, but I think he's misleading: 12 mils (as claimed in his eBay auctions) isn't heavy enough to offer any real protection from crushing, and no box will 'restore' a damaged box in any way, shape, or form.

No but I have seen them before. not to long ago, it was at a flea market, In which people were encouraged to look at the boxes, they did their job of protecting the boxes pretty well.  I didn't pay much attention to it, or even really remember it until I clicked the link.  I do recall some scratching of the case itself, but I'm assuming they were handled a lot. The guy selling had the actual games he sold behind the booth, so i didn't see how they went on, off.  I know this doesn't help much, but hopefully some.

this is a good point, as i recall they were thin, and were great for protecting from finger smudge, but not to protect them, say should you lean over onto the box corner.

I plan on getting a  few, along w/ some for other systems, but not anytime soon so I won't be able to comment on the quality.

I can't comment on these specific cases, but I have an NES game in a similar case that I purchased at a video store circa 1991.  It really protects the box from shelf-wear, but it would not stop it from getting crushed.

I've purchased stuff from this site before for other cardboard box stuff I own.

While you can't sit on them without repercussions, like say, a hard NES rental case, they're sturdy enough to help put a bit of form back in rather tattered box.

I have similar items he sells for all my cardboard Genesis and 32X games.  I believe the guy who sells everything is a NA regular as well.  Personally I think it's kind of cool that someone had the initiative to get all these custom sizes designed, manufactured, and up for sale.  I'm sure he's making a profit on everything, but it's neat to see it from come the retro community.
