If you own a Genesis or Sega CD, you've hopefully heard of Wolf Team. They've got a cult following, and for good reason -- El Viento and Granada kicked ass. Most of Wolf Team's cartridge games made it to the US and Europe, but we missed out on a lot of their CD titles. Fhey Area is one of those, and it happens to be their first CD-based RPG. It's not particularly good, but hey! It's still interesting... and now, it's free. The game's in nice shape and comes with both the case and instruction manual.
Here's a review of the game: http://www.honestgamers.com/reviews/10556.html (http://www.honestgamers.com/reviews/10556.html)
And the other day, I personally wrote a FAQ: http://www.unlimitedzigworks.com/2777/faq-fhey-area-walkthrough-mega-cd.html (http://www.unlimitedzigworks.com/2777/faq-fhey-area-walkthrough-mega-cd.html)
Shipping is on me if it's within the US. If you live outside the US, be prepared to pay for shipping (although I'll still cover it if airmail is cheap).
Here are the rules:
1) At least eight people must enter. Any less than that, and it's not a real raffle. If interest is too low right now, I'll just try again in a few weeks.
2) Entrants must have at least 50 posts.
3) Raffle ends on September 12, 2012.
Worried about your ability to play import Mega CD games? Don't be. It's perfectly playable through GENS 2.11 (and you even get to use an Xbox 360 controller!)
If you're feeling really nice, then you can "like" my Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/unlimitedzigworks) or "follow" me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/UnlimitedZig). Neither of those things will increase your odds of winning. I just figure that if I'm giving something away, I should also be allowed to pimp my blog just a little bit.
Entrants:
1. Duo_R
2. Hizaygizirlz
3. Mathius
4. Esteban
5. Munchiaz
6. PunkCryborg
7. Arkhan (will lose, because he didn't scream that he loves America)
8. Soviet Conscipt

This game is all right. I haven't gotten a chance to play very far into it, but I like it much better than most Mega CD RPG's. Battle system is decent, dungeons and flow of the game seem reasonable to me. I only played through the first dungeon or two.
sign me up please

Time runs short! If you're interested in Mega CD RPGs or Wolf Team, then this is the raffle for you! Make sure you either have an actual Mega CD, some kind of converter for the Sega CD, or a decent version of Gens.
PS - My desktop image is official SNK art of Fio from Metal Slug, so you know you can trust my raffle!

My model 1 SCD isn't yet equipped for imports but I am still interested in entering. I plan on being "import ready" sometime in the future.

Do people do region mods these days? My solution I've been doing for the last 12 years is attaching a Japanese MCD to a U.S. Genesis.

I am not sure. If I could get a good deal on a model 1 Mega CD I would jump on it immediately. I really like the design of the faceplate on the Japanese MCD.
There was a converter once upon a time, but I'd heard it only works with a few select games, and not worth buying. Is there a better one out there now?
Is the raffle winner gonna havta be lame and play it on an emulator instead of the real thing?
Yeah, I've got the Mega CD model 2 attached to my model 1 Genesis, and it works like a charm. Did you buy yours from Videogamedepot, by chance? That's where I got mine -- about 12 years ago.

Bought it from a guy in Japan. Think I met him on the Turbo List, actually.
I'd like to add this to my Mega CD collection so please sign me up! Thanks!
Your options for playing mega cd games are a Mega CD unit which can be used on either region genesis, multibios region mod, evermore or some other flash cart with a US cd unit which acts as the bios for a mega cd, or emulator.

The everdrive flash cartridge can be used as a converter to play mega-cd games, that's how i get past the region lockout.
Ah. You can use the cart slot for bios. Thanks for clearing that up. Now why couldn't someone make a reliable converter cart back in the early '90s?
Just get a LaserActive and both region PACs. :)
AND THE LUCKY WINNER OF "FHEY AREA" FOR MEGA CD IS . . . . .

#14, Canada!
Yay!
But obviously we can't let it end there, so cancel that and I'll pick the real winner now.
