Seriously? I'm lost for words.
Its only a matter of time before stuff like this takes off. People pay $1000 extra just for shrink wrap, after all.
that's what worries me
first a $480 box and no this people will by anything.
gonna start putting money on ebay i have seen £1 going for over £2 mentalists.

Wow, it's becoming ridiculous. Next thing people will try to sell the shrink wrap by itself too.
Probably worth bidding just to get the signature and the guy's address. = Easy identity theft.
**EDIT** Just put in my max bid of $0.01.
best part he is charging $2 to ship, i know an envelop and Stamp costs 2 bucks.
I have an Adams Family box with a babages price tag on it. Maybe I could buy the receipt and sell them together. lol
Wow, I'm also speechless... wait until someone puts a VGA grade on that receipt ;)
Heh, I'm surprised how well that reciept has held up over the years. I still have my receipt for Panzer Dragoon Saga from 1998 but the thermal paper it was on has faded it quite a bit over the years.
true about the thermal paper, I also love that "west wing near Foleys" was printed on their receipts.
QuoteThe original receipt from 1994
I think this is just when turbografx was out of business and was everything 50% off that time..
Well that's was then, and who ever keeps receipt that time
Who ever knows thats one time will be This system very rare, this games showing on the receipt is also very rare
If you have this games and system, this receipt is great to add on your collection!!
But I know this games and system very hard to find, and maybe more harder to find This piece of paper... :)
Somebody set us up the bomb...
I'm going to bid on it, win it for 10$, and then go try to return all the games to gamestop.

Awesome. I would outbid you, but it means I would have to bid .06. :)
Yet another eBay auction where I'm unable to read the entire description without falling asleep. What the hell has happened to the school system?

You haven't visited the US lately have you? we gave up about circa 90. It's better to just assume were better, no need to do actual work that way.
Hahaha... That's it the magical chase broom is going up.
I'm still waiting for you guys to use the Metric system. Using a mix of Imperial/Metric is confusing generation after generation of Canadians. I'm only now getting use to litres versus gallons.
it's confusing you, I'm in science, get the measurement in standard, convert to SI, compute, convert back so people can get an idea of the area. Then convert back again.
But but b...but... it's a Babbages receipt! The nostalgia factor is off the charts. I miss game shopping at the mall.
Now that there's documentation Ebayers can refer to, we'll start seeing new Duo's listed at $100, new Soldier Blades at $10 and new Shockmans at $20! I'm sure of it!
meh...it is only money. It is not like they are selling Cherry 2000's.

Awesome 80's reference. I would have totally done the robot too.
This is the most awesome auction I've seen in the last few weeks. :pcgs:
And some schmuck bought it for 2.01. Wow, I guess I really should create some uber rare receipts now!

Man, I bid 1 cent as a joke. Maybe it is time to do a receipt raffle.

I guess at least I get some ebay feedback for $2.01, if I am looking at the positive.
I know I can do better than $2.01. I have a receipt still in a game box, whose box is already rare.

For California Games for Atari Lynx. As the game was a pack in game with original Lynx, and was only available separately when Atari released the smaller Lynx II. As the game wasn't that great, not many boxed California Game sold.
So not only do I have a rare box for the game, I have an even rarer intact and readable receipt for the rare boxed game.
I'd be sad if I don't get at least $3 out of the receipt.
speechless....
Lolwut? Cali Games for lynx not so good? It's probably the most funbringing game on the sys.
at least BMX and Surfin' are.
I LOVE California Games!
Yes California games is a top tier game for the lynx.
As for the op lol at the person wasted their money on that.
shit, for 2.01$ I would've got that receipt and tried to return the games just for lulz.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY RECEIPTS NO GOOD, YOU BASTARDS.
if I wait til gamestop sells retro games, maybe I could pull it off.
At least there isn't some shrink wrap that supposedly was on the box of Magical Chase that someone thought that would be funny to ebay...

I guess you'd have to take the receipt to Gamestop, cause I think they're the ones who ultimately bought Babbages out when they went under, if I'm not mistaken.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON CONFESSION: I actually like seeing these old receipts for video games (and stuff like Gatorade). It's a nice reminder about how much things cost and...holy crap...receipts are making me nostalgic? IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?
Yes. Anyway, I really don't mind these old receipts. It's kinda fun.
