Thanks - I just bought one on eBay from the UK for about $30 "new" with box and manual. Hopefully I didn't overpay too much :)

Not really. Then again, I paid $10 for mine back when TZD had a sell on em back in the late 90s.

You probably got it from the same Seller as me.  When I was window shopping for one I was getting prices of $30 with $15 for shipping so I think you did fine.

Does the tg16 turbostick work good? I was thinking about getting one myself.

First time I ever used one.  I find it a bit flimsy, and light.  I do like it though.  It helps me out loads with games like Ninja Spirit where you need full rotation on the d-pad.

Yeah, the Turbostick gets the job done. For comparison, it's not as study as the NES Advantage, but has almost all of the same functions. I haven't tried the Beeshu, but the Turbostick is MUCH better then the other North American joysticks, i.e., the Quickshot and the Acemore.

I like it, though the PCE Turbo Stick is even better (it's identical except for having a weighted base).  It's definitely worth a look if you can find one for a good price, especially if ya have a Duo.

I was just going to use my tg16>duo adapter to plug it into my PCE Duo.

As for a weighted based, it is possible to weigh it down somehow? Like open it and tape some small weights in there?

Can anyone comment on the quality of the Beeshu? I have the Turbo stick, it's okay.

I don't see why not - maybe some sheet lead, since it'd be plenty heavy and not take up much room.  Just make sure the weights don't touch anything and cause a short.

If you really don't want it to move you could open it up and put two screws through the base right into a desk you don't care about.

The Quickshot Python works well with some of shooters, but mostly it sucks. Both buttons share a single turbo switch, so it doesn't work with games that thrive on independent settings, like Bonk's Adventure. Quickshot also neglected to test the TurboGrafx library when they ported the Python and the turbo rate-of-fire is all messed up with some games. Space Harrier would be the ideal U.S. Turbochip to play with a flight stick, but the Python's one-speed turbo switch doesn't seem to sync and leaves Mr. Harrier firing one measly shot a second. The suction cups work well if you get a new unit or a used one that hasn't been abused, but you'd better have a smooth coffee table in front of you because the controller base is very small and lightweight.

Solution to the weight problem - wheel weights
