You mean like Pokemon or YuGiOh? I don't think so, but there is the highly entertaining ( :---) ) CD Battle where you 'play' CDs instead of cards.

there was a game for the PS1, I think, that you could put in CD's and it would create all sorts of creatures from it, is that the one you are thinking off?

agreed, YGO is fun, but magic and the pokemans just seem to have too much superfluous crap for me.

Seriously card games on regualr game systems suck. Their is nothing retro about the 1990's.
Their was also a Chinese football videogame, as well.
