Title: Why has neither candidate promised to reduce turbografx prices?
Post by: DildoKKKobold on 10/03/2012, 09:53 PM
I'm concerned that neither candidate is willing to make the promises that directly affect me!

I'm a single issue voter!

Should have voted for Gary Johnson. At least then our money wouldn't be worthless.

Trust me, I plan to. The basic fact that he's barred from these debates just shows how much this country has fallen.

:D Socially liberal, fiscally conservative. I don't know why this is such a foreign concept to people. To clarify—I don't give a fuck if you want to get high on coke while banging a hooker at the craps table on your way to buy a fully automatic M4 to shoot in celebration of your gay wedding. Don't ask me to pay for it though.

Honestly, I think that a lot of people are socially liberal but fiscally conservative.  Whether they self-identify as dems or republicans just depends on which of those two things is more important to them.  I wish the government would stop taking so much of my money and wasting it on what I consider to be stupid shit, but I feel more strongly that they shouldn't be telling women what to do with their bodies, telling people who they can and can't marry, discriminating against minorities, telling me what I can and can't smoke, etc.  So apparently that makes me a "liberal."  But if I wished that the government would stop telling people how to live their lives, but felt more strongly that they should quit taking my money and spending it on dumb shit, then I would be a "conservative".  Our whole system is based the majority of people identifying with one "team" so that they can feel united against the other.

Sorry, I feel like that post was a little bit RegalSin-esque.

Obama: The prices of Magical Chase are clearly out of control, we need change!!!     Romney: I completely agree with my opponent and won't rest until all members of PCEFX have a copy!

DEBATE OVER!

I'd like to mention the TurboGrafx-16 to these two.  I'm sure both would nod or laugh like they had an idea what it is and got the joke or whatever.  But I can pretty much guarantee that neither of these mofos have any conscious knowledge of the TurboGrafx-16 or what it even is.  They may have seen one in a store once but I'm sure it didn't register in the long-term memory like it absolutely should have.

We don't need smaller government, we need more efficient government. Government can be as large as it likes as long as every position is legitimate and doing something right. And when they say they're gonna shrink the government, it's never where it would really make a serious impact on the issues they prattle on about... it's always social services or other such low-investment stuff that's critical to the people but doesn't make a dent in the resource pool.

That's what I'm talking about, we spend too much time and effort stopping people from doing things that really have no effect, but spend money like it's monopoly dollars. I really don't give a shit what people do as long as they aren't hurting others and spending my fucking money! :)
