Ok, so what is it that I do when I take a break from console modding? Why mod transformers of course! Here is a little thread will I will document my various mods to Transformer toys. I am fairly new to doing this, but so far having alot of fun. I will add in a couple of the other mods I have done later, but today I took this Rodimus car:

And did this to it:

By default this Rodimus can't open the canopy. I didn't come up with this mod, found the instructions here. Next job is to paint the inside seats.

I approve!
sweet. let me know when Megatron can actually fire bullets!!
ok next mod....
So Vortex....this guy has probably one of the worst color schemes of all time. It's just absolute $%@#! I mean what the hell was Hasbro thinking? Take a look at his color scheme....

It makes you think that Hasbro was going to release him with this Alt Mode:

Well time to salvage the color scheme with some paint. Red and Purple is pushing it, but yellow in the color scheme is just bat $#%# crazy....

After he dries tonight I will put him in Alt mode and make a few subtle changes. Also I painted Kup's rifle tonight, that one turned out pretty nice.
How about painting him in G1 colors, same goes for Blast Off! Both the regular & SDCC editions of these figures are off on there colors.
Yeah I might do that to another one, just making it more tolerable for now. G1 was grey right for Vortex?
That's Hot Rod
some new snaps:

Yeah, grey & purple for the toy

But grey & blue for the show

I really don't think the color is the biggest problem with Vortex there. He's just a shitty toy, period.
Ok latest project....took this guy:

I like him, but his legs kinda make him look like a chicken bot...so I gave him new feet:

And then added wheels (he is a triple changer now)

Nice, I have him, but yeah, the feet don't work on him. Those feet look better on Spinister(of whom I got, partially since he was one of my favorite toys as a kid).

A collector I ran into said he wasn't sure about Springer's head, but I think the head is fine. I do still kind of hope they do a proper triple changer down the road!
ahh he is a repaint, I had no idea! Spinster must be a G2 era toy with the bright colors ya?
Nope, he's a G1 Targetmaster. Never thought about the colors, he does kinda have a G2 scheme to him :-k Come to think of it, I don't think there were any Targetmasters in the G2 line. I think the only G2 figure I ever got, was Brawl, just cuz he was cheap & just sitting around a Kmart for years. I think I did acquire one of the G2 coneheads, though I don't recall where I got him. Oh, I did pick up a few of the Cyberjets & 1 of the Lazercycles. I kinda wish Hasbro would've repainted the Lazerrods when they were doing all those repaints for Robots in Diguise, they looked kinda cool.
