Here's links to four Turbo Duo videos I recently made. They are somewhat tutorial.

Turbo Duo - TurboGrafx-16 - Full Capacitor Replacement

Turbo Duo - TurboGrafx-16 - RCA jacks instal

I like the cap replacement tutorial and the technique for replacing surface mount caps with through hole.
Nice work :) Very clear videos, so its easy to see what you're doing on them.
I love the videos! Awesome job.
The customer didn't want a new laser or component video output, BUT I plan to make vids of these mods/repairs also!
Awesome videos, and great work. Thanks for sharing them.
Looks awesome. I like your way of removing surface mount caps.

I may not have been very clear about this or misleading in the vid, but it's prolly best to cut the can itself as close to the bottom as you can, this will have the least amount of stress on the legs and you will still sever them from the can part and still have easy access to them once the rest of the can and plastic base are removed. Then you can wipe the legs off with the iron and leave a nice pad to solder to.
Nice work. Those walk throughs will come in handy for people that are modding in the future.
I need to finally get around to getting some work done on my systems. I don't have the time to do the modifications, but maybe a few simple ones at a time would be a start. I've been mulling over having someone on the boards do some of the mods, but combined with the fact that I know how to solder and work on electronics and the resistance to sending my original systems from 1989 and 1990 via mail has been preventing me from doing so I think LOL.
Wow these are very professional videos, thanks!

Thats high praise!
I'm still trying to figure out editing and how to make each shot better, but for what the vids are they get the job done...
some nice videos and good tidy work there.
Sweetness :pcgs:
Super professional work akaviolence !!! Nice and clear video, with perfect explanations on how to go about the repairs/mods ...
A few more Turbo Duo vids to share:
Turbo Duo - color chaning LED placed in cd-rom window (https://youtu.be/fIECyd7qpjE)
Turbo Duo - caps and laser adj audio issue (https://youtu.be/WgxVbtoXziI)
Turbo Duo - Blue LED hidden on slider (https://youtu.be/iBzbmZ-qSQ8)
If light shines into the under area of the cd it will cause issues with the laser being able to read the disc. Just thought I'd point that out. Its optimal for the disc area to be pitch dark if at all possible.
Good to know, but no issues were found or reported.
Luckily LEDs shine up in a narrow cone of light so not much is getting under the cd.
Aka. I may be interested in having you install a led for power on my Duo. Is that something you'd consider?
$5 for regular LED, $7 for color changing.
