Lately I've been listening to the Megaman 2 and 3 OST and I can't get enough.
What other game soundtracks do you all recommend that may be in a similar vein. What other MM soundtracks do you all recommend?
Thanks!
MM3.
Capcom shit sounds like Capcom shit. Listen to all their NES games for similar tunes. :)

Well yeah I could do that, but I was also hoping for some other leads and broader choices.
I did find this http://www.playthenes.com/6.5.0.Tunes/6.5.0.Tunes.php
We need something like that for Chip Choons
Ducktales and Yo! Noid. You will be set for life.
Get the NSFs for Legendary Wings and Titan Warriors. Those are done by (roughly) the same musicians at roughly the same period.
Same goes for Son Son 2 and SideArms on the PCE.

Yep. The PCE version of Sidearms has a noticeably different soundtrack than the arcade version. Unfortunately, the tunes in Sidearms Special are odd remixes of the arcade version's soundtrack.
Mega Man 2 was composed by Takashi Tateishi. He also composed the music for Willow and LED Storm for the arcades and Side Arms Special on the PC Engine. Sadly, he retired from composing after leaving Capcom in 1990.
Mega Man 3 was composed (mostly) by Yasuaki Fujita. He also worked on Darkwing Duck (NES), The Little Mermaid (NES), Tenchi wo Kurau II (NES), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (GB), Final Fight 2 (SNES), Breath of Fire (SNES) and a few other non-descript mahjong and card games for the Super Famicom. Also composed Solar Man's theme for the somewhat recent Mega Man 10.
Dropping some knowledge, LIKE A BOSS!!
DAYUM!
Thanks GUYZ!!
Dragon Slayer II has a few classic Mega Man sounding chip tunes, but this one in particular is more classic Mega Man bgm sounding than most classic Mega Man bgms-

Woah, I never thought about that! That track has some sort of fire level sound for an MM. Spotaneous Combustion Man! :D

It's actually a great fighting game that flew under the radar back in the day. I cut my fighting teeth on it back in 1999 as I was getting into Street Fighter Alpha 3. It's great for beginners, but it's solid enough for anybody to enjoy. It's got an interesting story mode with light RPG elements, too, but it's a fighter through and through.
I have always liked the soundtracks from mega man 4-6. Napalm man, flame man, blizzard man, skull man.... so many good tracks!
Some samples for your quick linking pleasure.

When I tell people I listen to video game music they instantly assume NES Mario Brothers music.... and while that theme is ok in its own right, I really don't listen to it much.I really don't listen to much NES music at all. The Megaman games are an exception. These six soundtracks (and maybe Duck Tales) are the only 8 bit music I do much listening to. It amazes how they were able to make such immersive music with so few tools.

DUDE, do you have more of this? More PSG tunes from CD games, please! :pcgs:
I want a centralized respository of .hes and/or .mp3's of PSG from CD (among other things! ha!) ...
SWEET MONDAY CHOONS!!!
The "performances" could be programmed in better, but Burning Angels has a Megaman-style soundtrack.

Ha! That would be reason enough to pull this game out and play it. I can't remember any of the music from Burning Angels.
ALSO: Please tell me you have .hes/.mp3 repository for all the PSG tunes buried on PCE CD-ROM games... please, PLEASE tell me you have done this, off and on, for the past few years :pcgs:
Awesome, I got a bit "burned" out on chip choons, this may just rekindle the addiction.
Thanks!
