i just heard back from a letter i had sent to RR1980's address:
Dear Jenny,
I am Arnold's sister, received your letter yesterday.
I am sorry to let you know that my brother passed away last February of Heart Failure.
As you are his friend, I know this news will be a shock to you as you worried him for this long time.
Sorry that since we don't know his friends so we are not able to let you know when this happen.
I don't know what to say, I am glad to receive your letter and know that my brother have a friend that care about him.

i always thought RR1980 was gonna log back on so i never thought of sending the letter sooner to see what happened till we spoke about him in chat last week. i still have one of his repair orders.

Ahh, so it is as we feared.... I have two CDROM2s of his :(
I talked to RR regularly in the chat but after he came back to the US and broke his ankle and never came back I was afraid something like this happened. I even sent him some pms to see how he was doing. He was a great guy, very friendly and I really enjoyed talking to him.

Didn't know him well, but I was gone for a bit, although I know I've chatted with him a few times in the past. Sorry to hear this. Condolences guys, you got them.
He mostly came into the chat in the later evening but I did have a few interactions with him. It's sad to hear another member passed away.
I also shared in conversation with him a few times on here in the past. I had wondered what happened to him but never really gave it further thought. If only the news would have been better.

This is really sad. I had some great dealings with RR. Hate hearing things like this about really nice people.
RR1980 was a cool guy to talk to in the chat. Like FB7, he used to log into the chat almost daily. One of the last conversations I had had with him was about a trip he had made to Seattle and San Fran in December 2011 or early January 2012, but got really sick with the flu or something. He hooked me up with my copy of Spriggan.
RIP my friend.

What??? Arnold was a great friend of mine. A good portion of my PC Engine collection came from him, along with my Neo Geo stick. I can't believe we lost another PCFXer.

Oh wow, another member from here! My condolences to anybody that was his friend for what it's worth... Can't say I ever heard of his alias - He was before my time in terms of when I started actively visiting here again in early 2012 from what I can see.
It is a little strange/unsettling/eerie to get these mortality reminders from a forum like this, just not something I'm used to, is all, and this news comes not long after Firebomber's incident... =\ But eh, such is the nature of human existence on this planet: we all got it comin', everyone has an expiration date... Personally, I just hope I don't leave a lot of unfinished business before my time comes.

Chop, thanks for letting me (and the rest of us) know.
When ever I do my training sessions, I have to think of him. We talked a lot about gyms, exercises, equip., nutrition and stuff.
Makes me very sad, but also gives me some motivations to do more. It's like he's helping me from beyond for doing some few reps more sometimes.
RR1980 was really one of my favorite people here. I made a big PCE buy from him not too long ago, helped him rewrite some FDS games as well.. Was wondering why he hadn't signed on for so long. Figured he was just taking a break as many of us do.
Really cool of you, chop, to take the time to send the letter.
I didn't really know him but I said hey to him a few times on the chatroom... that was about it. :(
