Question:
Which is it?
Option 1: VolfieV
votes: 8
Option 2: VolfieD
votes: 14
Option 3: Qix
votes: 8
Pcedai says Volfied. Both spellings have about the same amount of hits on the forum.
I personally wish there was a Gals Panic instead.

PCEDAI says Volfied because of the Japanese calling it Volfied (or ヴォルフィード). So since this is a Japanese game, I guess it's obvious what the right answer is :)
I think the game was really ment to be called WallFeed. That's what you could take out of its japanese spelling.
And it would also make some good sense, since you do feed walls in that game. like a an old printer feeds the paper.
I chose VolfieV (even though I know it is actually VolfieD) since I'm a big fan of Malaprop humor.
Funnily enough, it's actually pronounced BAKUSHŌ YOSHIMOTO NO SHINKIGEKI .
ONLY ACCEPTABLE ANSWER: VolfieV. (The alternative, of course, is DolfiedD, which clearly, is LAME).

Its Qix....
It's Gyarus Panic...
somehow every game I try to spell just comes out
O - B - E - Y
The gaming store that I had used to work at back in the 90s sold it as Volfied.
This does not mean much though as we had some horrible translation ;-) LOL
ヴォル = VOLU
フィー = FEE
ド = DO
VOLUFEEDO :D
I like to pronounce it as Volfie.... and just kind of trail off so no one knows which one I said.
I always pronounce it "Vol-fié" as it ends the same as pied in French. :P
I don't actually.
Anyway, Qix is the 1981 arcade game; the poll should read "Ultimate Qix", the sequel (Volfeet in Japan).
(Ramble continues:) My dumb brother always pronounced the musician Jean-Michel Jarre's name as "Jarré" which I always told him was 1) stupid because there's no acute accent on his e, and 2) pretentious. I actually did show him a Japanese spelling of his name to prove its pronunciation. So now we've come full circle.
Quote from: BlueBMW on 01/19/2013, 04:27 PMヴォル = VOLU

This is correct, but how about this as an alternative. The Japanese would romanize VOLU as ヴォル, but if you want to be pedantic (and I do!), the Japanese can't actually pronounce a V sound, so what you get is actually more of a UOLU. Therefore, I think we should start calling the game Vuolfiev/d to attempt to fairly represent all possible interpretations. : )
Ok it's settled.... It's called Gal-less Gal's Panic
UPDATE: As I sipped my coffee this lovely winter morning, I discovered the truth.
TRUTH: Stay true to the game's roots.

OK, I finally voted. I was going to abstain, but I couldn't resist! My vote ties it 5-5! Ha!

I was playing this today. Just tried to find the manual, but I can't find the case >__>
*edit* found it, but no mention of either in English. The only reason the search matches nearly equally is because everyone here thinks it's funny to say Volfiev

We used to play this game on MAME all the time in college. There were two nudie games which were played using the QIX formula. To this day, I remember the song that played in one of them:
"NOBODY, NOBODY, EVERYBODY MOVE THE BODY." To this day I still get that song stuck in my head.
It's Volfied from the official printed materials, but VolfieV is the funny (correct) answer.

WHO IS THE BASTARD WHO BROKE THE TIE IN FAVOR DolfieD?
I voted for VolfieV. I don't care if it's technically wrong. It looks cooler. And I wanted to make the poll even again. :P
I like Volvied. It's wrong, but easier to remember and say.
always thought it was VolfieD put going by the box i could be pretty wrong or am i?.
is this some crazy conspiracy to call this game by the wrong name even mame has it as volfied or is it some crazy japs play on words.
Vho the vuck keeps votingv vor DolfieD?!? Stuvid vuckers don't know their asses vrom a HuCARV in the grovnd.
According to the title screen, it's Volfiev. Otherwise they would have spelled it Volfied. It's probably just one of those silly Japanese uses of Western letters. Like Gley Lancer. They can't get anything right.

So the answer is both...
They can't even spell NAMCO correctly. :)
Why that? :)
Btw. In fact it's ROLFIED :!:
Those are quite clearly sideways 'A's, so therefore it's AolfieA

That's the crappy PC sequel Volfied of the better know PCE original VolfieV. (Think of the orignal as Kung-Fu and the sequel as Kung-Fu'ed.)

The thread is interesting though I've never noticed it being called both ways all these years.
I always called it Volvo Thief though :)

A MODEST PROPOSAL: I suspect that some folks here (who conspire against the truth and are agents of FEKA) created dummy accounts many years ago. Their plan? To manipulate this poll concerning VolfieV. It is the only reasonable explanation for the current 10-7 vote in favor of DolfieV/DolfieD/DumbasS
VumbasS?
Question for those who have actually played this game:
How similar is Volfie? to Cacoma Knight in Bizyland (http://www.gamefaqs.com/snes/563533-cacoma-knight-in-bizyland) (for the SNES)? I have played Cacoma Knight and enjoyed it, and the reviews/screenshots (http://www.pcengine.co.uk/HTML_Games/Volfied.htm) make Volfie?'s gameplay seem pretty similar.
I still say Volfie.......
I can't believe people can't see how obvious the answer is [-X
Volfied of course. 8)

STATUS: Due to an error* in accounting, the poll is incorrectly displaying a majority of votes for "DOLFIED"
TRUTH: The correct answer, of course, remains VolfieV
