Title: Arcade to PC Engine Conversion Spreadsheet and Mame custom lists
Post by: SuperPlay on 08/05/2013, 03:30 PM
Hi Folks

I have spent some of my spare time over the past few days compiling a spreadsheet that lists the arcade games that received a PC Engine conversion.

Spreadsheet on GoogleDocs (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApayGyx9GxlqdEh0eEg2azk2ZlVnTHprSV9mOGU1Tmc&usp=sharing)

The spreadsheet contains 2 distinct lists.  One is based on the Japanese releases/game names and the other is based on the World English releases/game names.  Where there was no corresponding localized release I Have included the root title on both lists for example 'Kiki Kaikai'.  Also if there was a localized US version and a Global version I have used the Global Version.

The spreadsheet contains the following columns:

A) PCE Title
B) Format

C) Arcade Title (Mame List 1) JPN
D) MameDir   (This is the game zip name for those of you who run Mame!)

E) Arcade Title (Mame List 2) EN
F) MameDir (This is the game zip name for those of you who run Mame!)

As a bonus for those of you who use Mame I have created a custom list file!  Just pop this into the  'Folders' directory contained in your 'Mame' folder and you will see a new 'PCE_Engine' top level folder containing 2 custom lists.

Note: I have only tested this with 'Mameui64' version 0.149u1

PC_Engine.ini (https://www.tg-16.com/superplay/ARCADE_CONV/PC_Engine.ini) (Right Click and Save as)

No doubt I have missed some titles and have got some wrong! However I would not be surprised as this is my first attempt at this based on the games I own.  So feel free to comment :-)

So the mamedir names are different than the title?

Ah bugger! Thanks for the heads up.

I have just taken a look and noticed that my copy/paste of the mamedir column does not match the title it should be ;-) LOL.  I will correct this soon!

First, kool!  :pcgs:

Second, I haven't MAME'd in years and years but I am curious about making these comparisons.

Third... REQUEST: If folks play these games on MAME, I encourage you to take screenshots that match the ones found on this page:

https://www.tg-16.com/screenshot_comparisons.htm

I would love to have a column of ARCADE screenshots for relevant games!

Nice list superplay, thx :)

It would also be nice to add the release dates of each version PCE <> Arcade. And the US Turbo releases as well.

But I know, lots of extra effort required.

I have fixed the MameDir columns on the spreadsheet :-)

Also I have made a small change to the downloadable PC_Engine.ini file: Replaced Boxy Boy (US) with Souko Ban Deluxe on 'Mame List 1 JPN'

Tats I like your idea, looks like I need to find some more free time ;-)

Don't forget:

Cratermaze/Doraemon Meikyuu Daisakusen/Kid no Hore Hore Daisakusen/Booby Boys

Jong Shin Densetsu/Quest of the Jongmaster

Puyo Puyo

Puyo Puyo 2

Zipang/Soromon No Kagi/Solomon's Key

Final Lap Twin/Final Lap

Mizubaku Daibouken/Liquid Kids

And if you're including other games which are unfaithful to the arcade (like Tiger Road, Marchen Maze, Chuka Taisen, etc), Crest of The Wolf/Riot Zone/Riot City should be included as well.
