So I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this game for a few months or more now on Sept 24th... however, after browsing around on Gamestop's website, I see they now have the release date as 11/05??? I then did a quick Google search concerning this and everything still lists it as coming out on the original 9/27 date. Can anyone either confirm or deny this change or has heard anything about it?

That's actually fine by me in a way. I don't have a Vita yet. The prices all just dropped, but there was a rumor of a new model. I think Gamescon is this week, so hopefully they'll announce it. I really want a 2nd model, with a tv out & any other upgrades that may come with it. Ys though, really is the main reason I'm getting a Vita, though there are other games that interest me. I even picked up a couple cheap that I want to eventually play thru.

Searching the Marvelous - Xseed Website will give the same answer - they haven't announced an official release date yet.
Although I have to wonder why everyone seems to be using the same date?

Well thats a fucking bummer. This game sold me on buying a Vita, especially with the new price drop. My local Toys R Us is having a special on Vitas... the 3G version with an 8G memory card and a free game (downloadable) for $199.99. I'm going to pick one up tomorrow.
But I was really hoping to play the revamped Ys4 at the end of September. Now it seems as though I'll have to wait until November... or possibly later. Come on XSeed! Release this game already!

A little more info... looks like there will be a "Silver" edition of Celceta which comes with alot of extras. Still no concrete release date, though

I preordered the Silver Edition last month. Kind of pricey, but I feel like the soundtracks alone give the whole thing the extra value. The compass seems like a Working Designs ploy with some of the weird stuff they gave out. Now Sony just needs to release a Vita TV here so I can actually play the Vita game I own. :3

Yup, same here. I already have a couple of Vita games I got that are supposed to be good, & I got them uber cheap. Part of me wants to just pick up a Vita now so I can play Ys. I almost pounced on that RadioShack deal, but, decided to wait. I'm sure they'll release the new model &/or the Vita TV out here eventually.
Just make sure you pick up an older Vita model. You really don't want to use the LCD version. The OLED makes games look so much better. I was sad to see they took it out of the redesign.

I ended up ordering a Vita. Best Buy has a deal for the WiFi/3G version, with an 8GB card for $170 plus free shipping. I've heard the newer model still looks really good, but that the OLED is amazing in comparison.
So far, the Turbo CD one is better. This shit is super long winded and boring so far.

I finished the new one in like 2 days. Aside from the lack of 90s art style/presentation, it was at least a fun game.

So it's exactly like Ys Seven then. Sounds good to me. Is there really a "hard" Ys game though? Does Celceta have sort of quests like Ys Seven?

Yeah, I beat the first boss without getting hit once, just using pure instinct and abusing his easily predicatble pattern.

Apparently Falcom doesn't really consider this game Ys 4 exactly, plus, there's a ton of missing songs that were in DoY & MotS. Makes me wonder a little if they have something more instore somehow for Adol in Celceta at some point?

No Ys 4 story elements anywhere that I can find. The only thing similar is the music. I hope there's some Ys 4 to be found later. So far there's no antagonist at all. The game insinuates this is Adol's first adventure EVAR. I can only play 2 or 3 hours a day.

MotS was cannon, since at the time, it was apparently considered "closer" to what Falcom originally wanted to do with the characters & such, but now Memories of Celceta replaces it. I'll just quote what Wyrdwad/Tom(a translator for Xseed) said about it on the Ancient Land of Ys boards.
"It replaces Ys IV in the canon, and AFAIK still takes place between II and III, but the story is wildly different from any previous version of Ys IV -- it's not a remake like Felghana, it's pretty much a whole new game altogether that just so happens to have some Ys IV locations, characters and music in it.

Back to Ys 4, I might mention that in this game, besides Karna, Garuda, Bami, & Gadis returning from Dawn of Ys & Mask of the Sun, there's also Duren, General Leo, Leeza, Eldeel. There's probably more I'd guess, but I just barely started it.
Also, I must say I'm surprised & impressed that Xseed got ahold of some songs from Dawn of Ys for the soundtrack cd(along with other arranges thruout the series). When they did Ys 1 & 2 & Oath in Felghana, they were trying to get the rights to use more alternate versions of the soundrack, including the Turbo versions. IIRC, licensing & as well financial issues got in the way unfortunately. It's a shame that they couldn't put DoY tracks in the game proper, but understandable since there's a lot of new tracks as well, so they'd have to get Ryo Yonemitsu to come in & make his own rendition of the new track to make it all match up well. :D

I picked up a Vita JUST for this game. Now that I've beaten it, probably gonna sell off the vita+games.

I still haven't beaten it. Just got Mask of da Moon and about to enter Temple of da Sun. I am at level 46 I think. Hopefully that's high enuff to beat Garuda and then Eldeel. Hopefully the final boss has no fewer than 5 different forms I LOVE THAT! I also wish there were more switching around in the menus because that really is awesome and not at all clunky. MORE PLEASE! And status effects... LOVE 'EM GREAT IDEA! And does anyone actually do anything with all of the plants/ minerals and whatnot? I don't really notice enough of a difference to make it worth my time and it's all very confusing and complicated.

Ha that's awesome, I'll give it a go. I beat the game last night. I might try again and NOT throw the mask off when I make it to the top of Mount Doom. Maybe different ending?
I also haven't completed all of the side quests yet. Two are vexing me. One is someone who wants me to test their weapon but I think I may have sold it. The other is the creepy guy in Duran(?) who wants me to get items for him but I never have what he needs and he won't tell me what he needs.
I didn't do any of the side quests because that shit is retarded.

And Arkhan, I used your idea last night and, holy shit...I'm basically a non-stop killing machine now. It's made this game insanely easy. Weird that the absorb thing is even an option! But, I guess, not a lot of people would figure it out on their own.
