not much use if it doesn't have the pacs that people want it for.

I beg to differ! A lot of us here are big Laserdisc fans. There also plenty of pacs out there to be had out there too.

Did anyone PM Jeff or Nectarsis about this?

I'd get it, but it doesn't say anything about condition or whether the hookups/controllers are included, if any. For all we know, it could be a empty shell.

:|

If you plug it in and the tray ejects, chances are you're pretty good to go, barring maybe a dead laser.  I can't imagine someone gutting this and still making the tray mech work.  And you can get a controller when you get an appropriate PAC for it ;)

Good deal to whoever wants it, I paid about $100 for just my Karaoke PAC with a couple mics.

It was over on the South Side of Milwaukee. DEEP in the South Side. It's a part of the city where you lock your doors at stoplights to prevent carjackings in broad daylight.

When I say this was a crackhouse - I'm not kidding, there was actually a guy on the couch smoking crack and/or a meth related substance and about 6 people living there. I'm not going to question where this thing came from, the price was right, haha.

Needless to say I got the F out of there as quick as possible.

I can finally share this story!!!!!

ABout a year ago, I picked up my first turbo score.  It was a craigslist ad.  The guy directed me to his address in a rather surburban town.  However part of the town backs up seemlessly to here:

http://trenton.homicidewatch.org/2013/08/29/daytime-shooting-in-front-of-bakery-sets-new-murder-record/

So literally one side of the street is the town he indicated, the other side was Trenton NJ.  Guess which side he lived on...

So here I go alone to his house, guy is outside waiting for me with a CRT from 1980 plugged in via extension cord and the TG-16 set up.  I played it, got my $10 Dead moon Card (which wasn't listed)  and got in my car and left ASAP. as I was leaving, across the street a guy was arguing with a tow truck driver over his towed car which he had just gotten from the impound lot.

Y'all are true OBEYers, risking life and limb to score some Turbobs.

Hmmm.... perhaps we're not all that different from those crack/meth heads.

Usually when I am in a situation like this, I will try to preach the harms of drug use.  Maybe you should go back with some anti-drug literature.

As someone who lived in Milwaukee for 13 years, I can say Jeff is brave soul. I've only ventured to the Southside a few times. Its like walking into Mordor...

Kudos to your bravery and awesome pickup.

HAVE YOU CONTEMPLATED THE SIGNIFICANCE OF PLAYING DEAD MOON IN THE CRATER-STREWN WASTELANDS OF TRENTON?  :pcgs:

Camden would have been even scarier to me.

Yes i did think of that Esty.  That being said I will not be going back for obey anytime soon:

trenton and newark are worse as far as crime by far this year. That being said I'd stay away from all 3.  I was doing a report for school and had to look these up recently for this year.

but to but this into perspective.  all three are on the I-95 - 295 -130 - 1 corridor.  roughly 30 minutes between each North to south.

Newark = crime rate of Oakland
Trenton = crime rate of Balitmore
Camden = crime rate of Clevland

Now this would be damaging enough but consider this:
Between the 3 they have over 100 murders, About %70 of these are teenagers.

Rant: hidden just becuase its off topic. Trenton = State Capital - where you know all our politicians work.  Including a certain well loved governor who has aspirations to run the country.  Although given DC this is par for the course.  ANd the mayor of Newark wants to be a US senator.  Clearly these are the people who should run our country.

I never thought about the corridor...it makes much more sense now, actually. I have to look at a map. I grew up in Bloomfield, which is adjacent to Newark. NJ has severe inequality: super-wealthy and super-economically-deprived. On my daily commute, the train travels through some of the poorest and wealthiest neighborhoods—the juxtaposition of the two is bizarre.

I love NJ, still.  :pcgs:

What's happening to Southeast Wisconsin (Racine/Kenosha and Milwaukee's Southside) is that as Chicago is gentrifying and rebuilding its worst neighborhoods (Cabrini Green, etc.) they're displacing parts of the population up north in our neck of the woods.

I do love watching the History Channel "Gangland" episode where they show the street my office is on as being a "crack corridor in Wisconsin" haha.
