Cant believe Exile got a USA release. Like changing the name of Christians to Klispins and keeping the cross on their chest would fool us.
Just saw an amazing 1954 movie called The ADVENTURES OF HAJI BABA that reminded me of Sadler
An amazing flick!!! I love it, one of my new top favorite movies of all time. The production value, the crazy horse battle stunts (my friends dad broke his neck working with horses all his life , years before retiring). I mean the battles where well orchestrated and choreographed, story was cool, and there were no "bad cuts" in the action scenes. Scantly clad women EVERYWHERE including amazons. Movie was a roller coaster. A movie with so much visual detail needs a Bluray re release.
White people playing muslims is cool too, reminds me of how the Japanese make everyone white despite race in their cartoons/games.

Not true. Roller Coasters are much shorter and give you enjoyment.

Real question is, why did he need to use it in the first place?

You just keep piling it on.
Hrm... it's kind of true though... how many Japanese games have black people in them? Very few... and even when they do, the game is dominated by white people. SFII had M.Bison/Balrog, but the rest were white until Dee Jay was introduced... Final Fantasy didn't get a black guy as a major character until 7, and even then it was only Barret (was Rude black? hard to tell). The KOF series has Lucky Glauber and Heavy D... any others? Everyone else is white. Soul Calibur finally got a single black guy in 3 (Zasalamel), the rest... whites (and yes, I'm counting Asians as white because they are light-skinned). Parasite Eve had Daniel, everyone else was white. Rival Schools has Boman Delgado and... no one else... whites dominate the game once again. How many games let you play as a black dude as the main character? Hrm... very few. Come stateside and not much changes. The Mortal Kombat franchise, for example, has Jax and... ... and... ... ... anyone else? Oh, Darrius... he's black. Tons of scantily-clad white girls in the game series though. I don't know about characters past the Armageddon release though. Still, games need more character diversity.

I wouldn't exactly call Dhalsim white. Isn't he supposed to be Indian? And what about Blanka? He's green.
You crazy, Rover. It's not a "black" or "white" world.
Like Venom noted, it's impossible to argue that Blanka and Dhalsim (and T. Hawk from Super) are white. There might not be many black video game characters, but that's true of all media.
Blanka's White! I saw the movie!!

I am curious enough to watch the film that Xak mentioned...
Otherwise, the fact that there are only a handful (literally) of token female, black, etc. characters (most of whom are stereotypical) speaks volumes of the video game industry.
So, yes, I agree with Rover. :pcgs:
See? esteban agrees with me. CLOSE THREAD!
But Estebanjo is wrong! Look at all the great OBEY that has female characters, many of which are hardly dumb helpless bimbos: Maria, Ripple, Cotton, Princess Misa, Chew Man Fu girl, Valkyrie, Esty, etc.
Chew Woman Fu?

I got it off google images. google "exile sadler" and youll find it. Cool coincidence though, do you want me to remove it?
Anyways, when there are black people in games they are very stereotypical. They even steal characters from movies. Dee Jay , is Billy Blanks from a movie called King of the Kickboxers

lulz..those are "just" video games for christ's sake. white black yellow green red blue man woman between zombies alien monster ghosts etc etc etc..doesn't matter.
A lot of video game characters are based on real-life people. Sometimes... art imitates life.
Almost every character in Eponasoft's current production, Lucretia, is based on a real-life person.

Joe, are you stepping up and taking responsibility for "TurboGrafix"?
Never! I did not do the captions, just provided the separate images for the article (and the article itself). Funny, because the guy who did do the captions (Melf) owns a TurboGrafx himself.
The video game industry doesn't ignore black people. It just so happens there are tons of American and Euro developed games released in America, where North America is the main target market, with black people in them in supporting roles and as the main characters. In Japan, I can understand game development not including many black characters into their titles. For one, demographics. I seriously doubt Japan is just filled to the brim with black residents clamoring for more representation in their video games there. They are not going to go out of their way to pander to such a small minority of their population. This holds true for US development as well.
While there are Asian characters and the such in American developed games, they are not usually a dominate force in the story/character wise unlike whites or blacks. Usually the only time they are is when it is a crime related game and it needs the Yakuza or typical Chinese gangs of some sort to be involved in the plot, such as in Kane and Lynch 2, Hitman, or Stranglehold. Just how it is. Game companies have to pander to their local demographics first and foremost, or pander to the key market they plan to make the most money in. Demographics in other countries or secondary markets obviously come second.
You can call it game industry bias, racism, or whatever, but all it really comes down to is money and what they feel the target demographic is going to want most, what will appeal to them the most. I mean seriously, do you really think while game developers are doing character designs they are sipping their office, smoking their cigs and spouting racist slurs the entire time while deciding what races to include in their games?

This is Fighting street, so YES! I think so! Racist bastards!!! Fuck 'em all!!!
...no seriously... yeah, I am very familiar with the concept of pandering to your target market and all, but it's not like players are saying "we don't want no blacks in our games, dammit! and no bitches 'neither!". Maybe it just doesn't come to mind.

I don't want no bitches in my games. I wantz them on me in real life. On a side note, ladies with huge racks that can hold your beer while you play is a nice feature.
^sounds like paradise.
Its not when your in it. Youd rather seclude after its all said and done.
