Title: Gaming New Years resolutions
Post by: PunkCryborg on 01/01/2014, 12:06 PM
I like to set gaming goals to beat certain games, try new stuff, find new hardware etc. Anyone have any goals or resolutions for the new year?
My first is to finish Lunar 2 which I am borrowing from beamer still. I put it down about 4 months ago when I got busy and I really want to finish it.
For PCE I want to clear 20 games this year.
For my hardware I have an arcade monitor I need to recap before a show in November. Ive been putting it off but it really bugs me when I go to use it and the image isnt what it used to be.
For new games I would like I really want to get 2 new pcbs of games I really want for my cabs, one vert and other hori. Most my pcbs are just cheap stuff I bough or a lot of stuff I dont play much. Most the good one I want are a little tough to find but I want to focus on just seeking those out rather just buying deals on games I would probably not seek out.

Please share if you have any resolutions for 2014 and Happy New Year everyone!

Get  a bigger TV so I can return to playing 8bit 16 and even 32 bit games again.

On my 27" I've just been playing handheld titles . My vision is perfect I just like seeing every tiny detail BIG. 43inches is good for a bedroom TV.

Gaming wise , I just want to finish the great RPGs I started. The GBA ones, then I want to return to 32bit and beat the Kings Field trilogy on there. I got far in Kings Field 2 (part 1 in USA) and it glitched out on me lost an unique item to a glitch. The item was necessary in progressing the game.

I took a break from Cosmic Fantasy 2 , but not because of the graphics, they look surprisingly good on the 27 inch. I just will hold out to enjoy Turbo glory in 43'

Complete a shooter.... I have GOT, LOT, Blazing Lazers, and Gradius 2, Super Darius, and Ai Cho Aniki are in the mail. I love the genre even though I am mediocre at it. I have to finish one this year!!!!

For Konami shmups.

Twinbee and Salamander are easy, Parodius and Gradius are ok, Gradius II is brutal.

To stop buying new shit and just play what I have.  So many games I have never finished that I want to.  It's just time is an issue.

Pay off some more debt. Looking back, The big purchases last year, gaming wise, were a 3DS XL and Wii U. I don't want a PS4 or XB1, but maybe a Vita (or Vita TV) at some point this year.

Knock a good number of unfinished games out of my backlog, possibly pick up a PS3 sometime later in the year, add to my collection as I do every year. Primarily the first one. And, of course, get some OBEY time in. ;)
