Looking to buy Dungeon Explorer II (US). I am willing to pay good money but it has to be in MINT condition. My current copy is less then good condition (CD has scratches and the manual is beat up). I am also open to just buying the CD and manual. Also looking for Order of the Griffon with a mint manual and a copy of Sim Earth.
LOL
It's a scientific fact that the mintier a game is, the more fun it is to look at on the shelf play.
And when you already have the rarez, there is always a better condition one out there to look at.
Does it have to be VGA graded to prove that it is SUPER MINT? Do you accept Video Game Quality instead?
I'm not looking for anything brand new in the box. I am just looking for A mint/like new well taken care of copy.
I'm not sure about graded VGQ games but I'm not a fan of VGA. I bought a VGA Qualified 85+ (NM+) copy of Dragon Warrior II for the nes. It was definitely not NM+. It was good but no where near NM. I lost my rear end on that one but that's what's what I get for taking it out of its acrylic case to check it.

Every line of that, if read separately, is an exercise in comedy.
CYA BUD!
Update: any sellers please PM this account. I finally remembered my old Password and was able to get back into my original account. I hadn't used it since 2010. And galam, I'm sorry you cannot afford to buy quality condition games.

Sicky, use some car wax on the cd.. Seriously.. I do and it polishes up perfectly, reducing those scratches. ( not joking I do this it works great) be thankful you have a copy as others here are looking for it as well.

Hey Sparky, I sold you some minty SMS games about four years ago. If you remember they were used and mint like brand new. Even the new game smell. I hope you are still enjoying them. That is how I like to collect games. Mint and perfect.
I'd still feel better buying a mint copy. Especially since my manual is crapy. How about CD resurfacing? Is that a good or bad idea?
If you end up with a "mint" copy as you've put it, should totes raffle off your "not mint" copy, yeah?
So minty mint.
There's the manual. If you notice, there is a lot of wear on both sides of the center fold. The cd had a minor scuff. I tried to show it in the attachment. I am collection a mint set of cd games and this is the only game I have that's not mint. Once I get it replaced it will go on sale here.

Well I would love to have that "crappy" manual and non-mint disc. :P
I think you locked yourself out of the community on that one, Sic Boy.
Take it, all of it! *throws money*
ah you're the guy on the FB group!
OMG !!!! What a non-minty POS! You need to send that game to me where I can put it out of its misery.... By playing the hell out of it!!
Honestly that game looks to be in great shape.
How Mint are you looking for? Pepper, spear, or Andes?
Out of curiosity, is there an approved list of games that someone should be mocked for wanting? DE2 is clearly on that list. Magical Chase as well. What about World Sports Competition? Or Camp California?
Don't forget Gunboat :D
And not looking to replace a perfectly good copy with one dipped in gold

Oh hey, ya man I have them still and was so glad to get Golden Axe Warrior off ya. Anyway DE II is a hard game to find at a fair price it seems these days, it's one of those games that's been jacked up by eBay :(
Yes resurfacing works if you find a place that actual resurfaces it, and not just buffing. It is usually a 2 step process, removing a tiny amount of the disc surface and then polishing. The place I got my disc resurfaced did this and it saved many a disc that I thought would be unrepairable.

My copy of Camp California* smells of French Toast, anyone care to sell me one reminiscent of ambrosia, hmm-hmm?
Also.

I think its funny that somebody from Nintendo Age is interested in DEII
Quote from: galam on 03/17/2014, 05:18 PMI think its funny that somebody from Nintendo Age is interested in DEII
Hey now, I'm from Nintendo Age! And if I ever got my hands on a VGA graded
anything, my first instinct would be to liberate it from its acrylic prison. [-(
I'm also a member of Atari Age, and Sega-16 before that, and a bunch more that I can't think of at the moment. I actually purchased a Duo-R recently from a user over at AA (not the alcoholics one), which is what led me to this fine place.
Games is games, mang. 8)
So i get the feeling you mean well, and for whatever reason are particular about your collection, that's cool different strokes. And I'm sure your willing to pay the hundreds and be happy, and you've taken flak for it. We've all been there (you spent money on what?) but the chance of finding someone on here willing to sell a DEII in okay condition is going to be rare. There just aren't that many out there and about 70% of this forum is still looking for a copy.
I'm just pointing out that as the price of these games has sky rocketed over the past few years, and we've watched "collectors" buy/sell and inflate the prices of what is considered rare games, the community here is a bit distrustful of people coming along and waving their rare games in the faces of people here, or buying and flipping potentially at the cost of the community. (certainly these people never add to the community in any real way)
Although it may be unfair to judge you as such, I just don't think you'll find your copy here, but instead will get something like this thread. You can say a lot about the turbo community, but damn are they passionate knuckleheads.
Anyway best of luck - Enjoy the turbo.
I have OCD and I like my games mint; that is it. I was willing to pay $500 - $700 for a mint copy. I even buy over priced new/sealed games just so I know I have a mint copy or multiple copies to make sure I can build a mint copy. I just assumed being a member for a few years I could find a copy from someone. I wasn't aware it was even 'that' rare. I also apologize for asking here assuming I would be surrounded by people that would support and share in my passion rather than mock me. When I was last on here four years ago; I didn't have to catch shit for selling quality items for reasonably low prices. I can conform though and be an asshole, mock and flame.
Will you please stop saying mint.

The difference might be that four years ago prices hadnt yet skyrocketed so people werent as picky about VGA etc
Quote from: sicboy057 on 03/17/2014, 09:39 PMI have OCD and I like my games mint . . .
I support you brother, your closer than me to having all the turbo you can ever play at your finger tips whenever, with manual ect... That is awesome. At no point did I flame you, I just pointed out that you might be disappointed with how things turn out here. It's not always right, but some members take these things as just another person who collects becuase they want to be cool and wave it in others faces and not for the love of the game. (you'll find the guys here really really like playing games in general, Turbo yes but also Feka, Nintendo ect.)
For what it's worth the game is pretty rare these days to see up for sale, even on the various forums. Personally I hope you get one in better condition than yours, it'll give me hope I might find one.
Also out of curiosity what do you mean by "mint" - becuase imo true mint would be the way the game left the factory - which would be brand new sealed.
Ill check my copy for mintness tonight.

I consider mint as 'like new' condition. No scratches/scuffs on the CD, no chips on the CD edge, manual that is cut correctly, not ripped, not folded, not faded. Very minor digs on the edge of the manual from the CD case tabs are acceptable. I do allow for some leeway but a scratch free disc is a must.
I can think of only three titles that don't have folded manuals - the three boobeh discs. If the others weren't folded, how would they fit in the case? :P
Corrected....
Is your DEII THIS mint:

I've noticed that there has been a HUGE increase in cost. $20 games are now $100-$130 and there is a lot of common games that are now harder to find. Gate of Thunder was a easy find with 4-7 on ebay at any given time. Sim Earth was a $20-$40 game new/sealed. Now, I cannot even find a copy for sale anywhere.
The same going with the PCE side. It was easy to find RAU-30s and IFU-30As both BNIB. Now there are more broken 'untested' units on eBay then good quality used.
I'm not hear to make money or flip items on eBay. My goal is to complete a set of all US games (minus MC), while working on my Japanese favorites. I have a PS3, PS4, and an XBox360. I don't play any of them, I'd rather just my SGX. My wife will even play the SGX with me. She wont play any of the newer consoles as she cant seem to figure out the controllers.

I'm just curious, and honestly not trying to be smartass or anything, but if you already had a PS3 and 360 that you weren't playing, why on earth would you buy a PS4? :-k

Ah, cool... lucky kids!
I'd really like to play Infamous: Second Son, but I'm not about to spend $460 to play one game. I'm sure I'll pick up a PS4 down the road though, when there's more out for it (plus all the stuff that's out right now should be on the cheap by then, woot!)
with that cash, id buy tires for my Camaro then fry them with burnouts!!

What a horrendous copy. You need to replace that shit ASAP.
I was hoping it'd be mint so I could replace it with the OP's more gamer friendly copy hehe (and maybe relieve him of some of that wallet weight in the process)
And look at that dust. It would be a crime to seal that dust in acrylic.
Yours has the same wear marks near the binding/fold. I wonder if they all do that.
I think that's just part of sitting inside a case for a long time. Other manuals of mine look the same way. If anything it might be a sign that the manual rarely if ever left the case.
I dunno lol. I think I'll leave it alone.

I've noticed this in a lot of jewel case games with a decent sized manual. Here is my collectard guess/explanation:
When you stack CD games vertically on top of each other (each one laying fully flat on top of the next), the combined weight eventually pushes down more on each of them. Then when the stack is moved or anything you're essentially rubbing the manual against part of the CD tray, making the coloring on the manual wear away.
If you look at this one as an example (and I've seen a lot of PS1 games with the same kind of thing), you'll notice the rubbed away part only happens where the tray isn't cut out to hold the cd. Why does it only happen near the edge of the manual? Probably because that part with the staple is the thickest part of the manual and the first to be "rubbed raw". teehee
I'm sure turbo games show it a lot more than others due to the overall age and storage conditions. It's a lot easier to stack and carry games one on top of another. Once I started noticing this I began storing my games standing up on CD racks. I also put a thin piece of foam or bubble wrap where the tray spindle goes to avoid having it rub either, I learned about that trick after getting lots of JP games like that.
Does it come with mints?
mints.jpg
I apologize. I was unaware DEII was that hard to find and I'm sorry for posting a wtb thread. It just appeared (from ebay sales history) that a lot more of them had been for sale the past 90 days.
