I gave you the option for up to 15 votes. I think you have to vote for them all at once. Went ahead and put every US huey up there to choose from.
put my votes in!
I thin the TV Sports games will be amongst the top... That crapiology is going to ptobably get 3 votes out of everyone. Oh and both Disney games.
I plan on 2 more polls from this one. I'll take the 15 worst from this group and have everyone vote on those (5 votes each) and then finally the top top five from that group for a vote (2 votes each) for the absolute worst games on TG16
Lets all have some fun with this and not just pick on the sports games.
Sure they're not the greatest games on the system, or even the greatest sports games for that matter, but it's way too easy just to check off mostly sports titles.
It'll be pretty damn boring selecting between 15, 5, and eventually 2 games if the majority are just the same sports games that pretty much the majority of people on this forum have already unmercifully ripped to shreds.
I'd agree with you, Jordan ...if the ripping on these games were unwarranted. I'm not sure how basketball and hockey will do but football deserves a top 5 spot on worst game list, in my opinion.
I'm probably one of the few who likes TV sports football. The sound when someone is being tackled is just plain awesome.
Also, when I was you younger(since the TV sports games lack music) I used to pop in one of my favorite bands CDs into my TG16 CD drive and rock out while playing.

I still maintain that with a little due diligence and taking the time to figure out the intricacies of the TV Sports games they can be a fun experience, especially with another player joining in. Are they masterpieces of video game programing? Certainly Not.
I'm still the type that enjoys "figuring a game out." Not all games are winners when you do this (I'm looking at you stupid, fucking Darkwing Duck), but you can get some enjoyable experiences out of games that aren't intuitive from the get go.

However, Slinkyturd, this is going to be an awesome poll/post, and I cannot wait to see what's voted as number 1.
Aww, man. Somebody voted for JJ & Jeff. That breaks my heart!
Damn at this point (my votes) it's a pretty close race :-)
I'm really surprised Dragon's Curse got a vote
I figured Falcon and Gunboat would be high up there.

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha! That shit takes me back. All I can think of is a buddy and I listening to Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water while driving around and thinking we were cool.
"Now I know ya'll be lovin' this shit right here, L I M P Bizkit is right there!". Just amazing lyrics and meaning.

Yeah I don't understand that, unless the person has never played the game. I've heard bad things about Gunboat... But as I've never played it I couldn't vote on it.

Not everyone takes stupid polls seriously.
Since every huey is up for voting I can't vote as I haven't played them all.
I'd hate to leave off a deserving candidate due to my ignorance on the subject.

Haha... I anxiously await a colorful comment from him.
I had the same thought, I can't rightfully vote for Gunboat or Falcon since I haven't played them. I never will either, because they just don't interest me. And whoever voted for Dragon's Curse needs to go back and play it until you like it! It's actually a really good game. It's counterpart on the Sega Master System is widely considered the best game on that system. Not to mention all the other great Wonder Boy / Monster World games that followed it, such as Dynastic Hero and Monster World IV.
I'm sure the Dragons Curse vote was either an accident or a troll lol.
I have never played Falcon, but judging from the fact that it is #1 worst at the moment, guess its not worth the 15$ investment afterall... :? ...?
Air Zonk got 2 votes? Someone's trollin!

Not gonna lie... some of the troll votes are pretty damn funny.
Amusing, but defeats the purpose of this poll, most of the votes are going to the sports games too, this poll would be much more badass if they weren't included, it would be interesting to see the choices.
What is the purpose, to find out that most don't like Falcon, Gunboat, Timeball, and Darkwing Duck? Holy shit, stop the presses!!!!
Troll votes are just as valid as votes based on youtube reviews or five minutes of play time.

I actually retract my previous statements...
I think discussing the faults and shortcomings of everyone's unanimous, "best game ever for the TG!!!" could be way more fun
Gotta admit, Dragon's Curse is one of my votes. I hate that game. Most of my votes went to games I've given several chances but can't find the patience to even complete the equivalent of one level. The striking is too short and it's just harder than I care to deal with at a starting position. That game in particular renews my hatred for Zelda 2 and Rambo on NES. An endless maze of "where the fuck am I going?...Where the fuck have I been?" with ridiculously ineffective attacks and enemies that should be in later levels and not on my ass the second I press Run.
I'm shocked that shockman and chase hq haven't gotten any votes at all. I mean clearly there is worse on this system but i'd figure someone would have some mass rage for them.

No, it's to start fights with people who don't dislike the same games you dislike!
For example: all of the voters for Darkwing Duck, Tailspin, and Impossamole are whiny idiots. What's the matter, never played a flawed, two-out-of-five-stars platformer before? Boo hoo. I'm so sorry Baloo doesn't jump as smoothly as Castle of Illusion or DKC, you stupid posers. Please, tell me again how Bonk III is the best of the series and Legendary Axe sucks because of the hit detection... or just shut up and die. I like to see these former SNERDs try to play a game that actually sucks, like Robo Demons or Alf. Their faces would probably melt off.

OK, there are some troll votes in here, because there are a number of games that will NEVER be the worst Huey, and are in fact fantastic, that have been voted on. I think the 15 votes thing is letting everyone go mad : )

I do not understand the hate for le JJ & Jeff. It's not a superstar platformer game but it is very fun if you don't happen to pick the speedy slippery guy. Which is why most people think this game is crap.

I am really surprised to see that Double Dungeons has so many votes. It is a bit average, but one of the worst Turbo games?
Also, Battle Royale should have a lot more votes. What an unplayable mess that is.
I haven't voted, but Ballistix gets all of my votes as worst HuCARD.
I'm not picking 15, just put me down for Hit the Ice...sloppy ass port of a fun as hell game in the arcades and elsewhere.
Falcon and gunboat are limited by the console. the coding is impressive given the scope and the time constraint they were coded in.
Double dungeons is old school, but awesome for what it is.
Look at all the ones that didn't get any votes:
Aero Blasters
Alien Crush
Bloody Wolf
Bonk's Big Adventure
Chase HQ
Cybercore
Dragon Spirit
Legendary Axe II
Military Madness
Ordyne
Parasol Stars
Raiden
Shockman
Sinistron
Somer Assault
Time Cruise
Any argument for one of these being the best US Huey?
One might argue Alien Crush...

Not a fan of all of them but several of them are really good.
Though... I finally played Gunboat today. Not only did I get frustrated at just trying to get into the actual game, but when I did get into the game I couldn't figure out how to play it. Man it really is horrid.
Yeah, that's a solid list, slinky. Ninja Spirit should also be on there. I accidentally clicked on it instead of Night Creatures.
I'm also counting 4 games with more votes than any sports game. Just to put to rest the fears of every sports game taking the top spots.

Double Dungeons was a huge disappointment to me when I got it as a kid. It couldn't possibly get more vanilla, there is absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Thank goodness for Dungeon Master: Theron's Quest to make up for it. That was probably the best 3D dungeon crawler on the system. I never played Might and Magic III but I know the series and that it definitely has a lot of character. Can't think of any others. But Double Dungeons is well deserved in receiving so many votes, if only for it's mind-numbing mediocrity.

I don't like sports games and don't follow other people playing sports, but I still had some fun with the TV Sports games bitd. Certainly more than Falcon, Gunboat and Ballistix.
Who the heck voted for Soldier Blade ????????
I enjoyed double dungeons, it reminds me of the original Phantasy Star on Master system, I understand that its not the most exciting, or shiny game out there but its great for what it is in my opinion.

+1. Great game that nailed everything it set out to do. A remarkable title for a 1990 home console original. People dislike it only because they expect a full-fledged RPG, but get a tightly-focused arcade dungeon crawler. If it were called "Maze Slasher" or something it would be more popular.
Quote from: esteban on 09/28/2014, 08:04 AMTV SPORTS Anything = better than Deep Blue.
Deep Blue reminds me a lot of China Warrior. Is it a good game? No, not really but it has its charms. Both require very high levels of enemy pattern memorization in order to beat them, and neither are the best looking games on the system.
But I kind of dig Deep Blue as a highly defensive oriented shooter for the system. More dodging, less shooting, and, yes, less fun than the other shooters on the system, but it has a weird charm/misunderstanding that draw me back to it.

I don't disagree with you. I just haven't given it a chance, really. I tried playing it like a traditional shootemup, got frustrated, knew that I was doing something wrong, and moved on to other games.
But I always revisit stuff, and I've been meaning to do so for years. FIRST I'LL PLAY ORDYNE, though, since I feel guiltier for ignoring ORDYNE for so many years.

Well said; good analysis. If I hadn't purchased Deep Blue when I was a twelve and had zero money, I would never have given it a chance. As it was, I was, I was stuck playing it for a month and eventually found it rewarding. It's one of those games that never gets a chance in a modern gamer's library.

I have a really difficult time finding anything redeemable about Ballistix either. The basic gaming premise seems fine enough, but sweet mother of lord is the implementation of that premise garbage!

Don't let me stop you! I didn't have the pleasure of having a co-op partner most of the time growing up, and when I did have a friend over we were assuredly playing something else besides Double Dungeons. Two player mode may add an extra dimension I didn't give it credit for. But as for the name, it's not like it's misleading. You get exactly what it says.
If I recall, all the dungeons looked the same except for the shape. That is, the same wall graphics and everything, maybe even music. If they had just given the overall atmosphere of the game a few tweaks it might have been more compelling. Plus, a progression/save system instead of just choosing which dungeons you wanted to go into, you would have to unlock them one by one.

I definitely remember the game looking and feeling a bit drab compared to other titles, and a save feature definitely would have helped. I'm also convinced that the 20+ year-old, first-person perspective is what keeps most people away nowadays, which is a damn shame.
But I'm gonna stop complaining about what Double Dungeons could have been and start trying to appreciate it for what it is.
Or I'm going to bitch, complain, and say I don't like it after this weekend. [-(

I still enjoy this style of game, myself. I picked up both The Dark Spire on DS as well as The Legend of Grimrock over the last couple of years. I think a lot of people out there have fond memories of Wizardry, Eye of the Beholder, and Dungeon Master just to name a few.

I completely agree with you. Those who grew up with genre, especially the 80s classics you mentioned above, are definitely still loving them some dungeon crawling RPG fun.
A lot of younger dudes like myself (late(ish) twenties) mostly got into 3rd person, turn-based RPGs on various systems and completely missed out on this era of (mostly) computer and PC RPGs. I'm certainly not vouching for anyone at or near my age, but I feel like this partly explains the disconnect between this genre and most gamers born in the late 80s and afterwards.
There is only one game on that list I would dread having to play again, Timeball. I hate that shit.

I love you.
But I will shred your filthy heart to shreds for disgracing Timeball.
YOU THINK I AM JOKING.
I wish I was.
GO HATE A GAME THAT DESERVES IT, YOU GODDAMN TROLL.
I still love you, but I had to delete your post from my memory. :pcgs:
I CAN DO THAT.
I wish I could strike timeball from my memory.
