So did anyone on here win this, I tried to get it but I maxed out at 25,000¥...

I knew it was rare, but I cannot believe it went all the way upto 59,000¥. Even if I had of won it, I would not be able to do anything with it as tracking down one of the software CDs would be nigh on impossible... and expensive.
Anyway, good luck to who ever did manage to get it... and hopefully they have some software and could perhaps post some more info on this as the only thing I could find was this...

Rare, that thing is crazy rare, I've only heard of one other in existence and that might be the same one.
59,000 yen is quite low I would of thought it would of sold for much more.

No, this is not the same one. So as far as I'm concerned, that's the second one I ever see. The first one went off on ebay almost 10 years ago now, and a friend of mine managed to get it for about 50$. He still owns it.
One that pops up every 10 years, I think we can say it's rare.
I think it's probably the second rarest bit of PC Engine hardware after the Power Console.
Excluding PC engine development units like the Hu7.

Must be, this is my first time seeing one!
There's a thread here from when the Kid's Station software turned up in Super Potato.

Also I think Kisaku might have won this ten key pad as his wanted item thread was updated today at 03:26 with

Holy crap, is this for educational software?
I want play Power Golf 2 with it.

hahaha I thought the same thing. I bid on it, but had no idea it was going THAT high.
You can use the mouse controller to play Power Golf 2 ;)

I've played it with both mouse/pad - and I prefer the pad. The swinging mechanic is soooo fast, the mouse button press has a slight delay compared to the pad imo
For such a rare item, it's not in very good shape. All OBEY deserves better care, dammit!

lol, I thought that too... surprised that it has not been kept a little better over the years.
Maybe the owner didn't know actually what they had...

I spoke to the seller. It was a teacher from Kyoto, and she used the PCE software with 4-5th grade students for the last 20 years. She was using a DUO-RX and allowed students to play matches of Hany on the Road upon competing math exercises.

Awesome story, thanks for sharing.
There still must be loads of these floating about in schools in Japan... I might need to talk to my friend living in Tokyo as he teaches in High Schools and may have seen some of these lying around.
I wonder what the original market/purpose was for this controller.

Edutainment.

Exactly what she was using it for... it was part of a suite called Kids Station and the software was designed to help kids learn maths, spelling, puzzle solving etc.
If you translate this page in Google Chrome it gives some background...

Congrats kisaku... I really wanted that too but just couldn't justify going any higher.
Glad it went to someone on here.
For posterity's sake, it ended at 59,000 moon moneys.
