Title: Considering PC-FX Purchase, mostly clueless on must have games
Post by: Turbotracks on 01/08/2015, 01:39 PM
Looking for this great community to come together and advise me on what PC-FX games are must haves other than Chip Chan Kick.  Right now just looking for nothing text heavy (I know that narrows it down a lot).

QuoteThe first must have for anyone starting out with the PC-FX is an emulator and a bunch of ISOs; know what you're getting into before buying, else you'll be yet another in the long string of PC-FX buyers that get bored and sell months later.  That said, some of the best and most accessible (for those without moon runes skills) games are Zenki, Zerogier, Ruruli Ra Rura, Chip Chan Kick, and Pia Carrot (translated).
That's the advice I gave last year (https://www.pcengine-fx.com/forums/index.php?topic=17095.0), and nothing's changed since then (same library, no new translations).

Battle heat, Zenki, Chip Chan kick, Tengai Makyo and Zeroigar are games playable without japanese knowledge; Langrisser, Farland Story FX, Dragon knight IV and other strategy games/RPGs and also the mahjong games are playable with the help of a FAQ
