Title: Wanted: RGB amps
Post by: Duo_R on 01/22/2015, 01:48 AM
I'm short on time these days so don't have to build some RGB amps. Anyone selling these still?

Note - I am in need of RGB amps not component as I am using RGB for video capture.

Side note, I have been using composite sync with RGB TO YUV Atlona board with no issues. Slight jail bars but not bad (I haven't done Steve's fix yet).

Using a RGB TO HDMI for video capture looks terrible. Now I realize upping to HDMI is going to impact PQ a little and I'm ok with that, but the signal has a lot of artifacts. I'm thinking the Rgb to HDMI box does not like composite sync.

At first I thought maybe I need a new Amp, but perhaps this is a composite sync issue? Thoughts on what to try here? I have seen this same RGB to HDMI box used on a Genesis and the signal looks flawless,
But on Duo it looks like balls. I know they have different resolutions, but I'm seeing a lot of dot crawl witch is why I am suspecting the sync line being the issue.

I might have to check my setup again,  but I might even be using straight composite video as "sync" for the Atlona box. I might just need to change that, sync clean etc.

Its seems like there just isnt any good way to reliably capture video off this old stuff without at least a little bit of bad stuff.
