Title: It came from the desert island
Post by: bob on 02/15/2015, 01:10 PM
It seems like so many "top" lists going around lately, lets just finish the debate here.

So the question is...
If you are stuck on a desert island, what would be your top 1000 video games you would want with you?
Please give a few reasons for each selection and your past experiences with them.
This list will only work if you list them chronologically.
Would you prefer just the game, or do you want it CIB?
Are some of your choices only there because you overpaid for them?
Would you bring some games that you have never played, so you can at least have a few new experiences while stuck on said island?
What tv/display would you bring?
What snacks?
Would you pay a subscription fee to access gamefaqs if that was an option?
If you finish a game, and the navy would come once a month, what game would you ask them to bring for a trade?
(Navy has no room on the boat to get you off island with 1000 video games)

Flan.

Coffee, black.

Wonderboy III Monster Lair & Valis III (TG-CD): fun in the sun.

Wonderboy & Gulkave (SMS): easy and frustrating.

Pirates & Dungeon Master (Apple IIgs): so great!

Wasteland & Lode Runner (Apple ][): pure awesome.

Block Out & Pool of Radiance (PC): because Block Out rules.

Lifeforce & Iron Tank (NES): good times with standard controller. If I had the NES ADVANTAGE: Cobra Command.

Coffee mug with RANDOM ASSORTED HUCARDS (for a surprise).

That's it.

NOTHING ELSE NEEDED.

Actually, I'd need a bunch of LP's by THE WEAVERS, too.

DONE.

Fucking Gulkave. I could make it to stage 24 out of 30 on one credit. Never beat it though.

CRT tv for time crisis

Pitfall ii sg-1000: best game on the console
Super Mario bros, mega man 2, 3, 4
Legend of lord all mighty tonma: fun shit
Garou motw: I suck but it's the best fighting game
Tony hawk 3: best sports game ever
Time crisis 2, 3: no reason needed

Just 2. Skyrim and Fallout 3. I've logged so many hours to those games it's rediculous.

Quote from: guest on 02/17/2015, 11:47 PMTop 1000 desert island games? Easy. The maddens.
Did you know that John Madden is in the credits for the production of TV Sports Football? He is, it's toward the end of the credit scroll: Cratering Provided By John Madden.

Seriously, though, on Cinemaware's old site there was a random blurb of trivia generated whenever you loaded the main page...one of these blurbs said that the designers/producers/staff for TV SPORTS FOOTBALL went on to create the first Madden game (it was a computer version, I think)...which eventually made its way to Genesis.

I have to find my old notes...I copied all the trivia from the old Cinemaware site many years ago.
