what??! i'm bored. :D
that listing has been up for a looong time now
This doesnt make any sense 8-[...there was a space invaders for Turbo?
I understand IF there was a space invaders for TG then the seller can make sure to mention it to complete fools that this is not that actual system for sale. But this tool is mentioning TG when there is absolutely no reason to mention it at all.
Folks will use keywords to increase visibility of their auctions.
This fellow puts "turbografx" in the listing to catch a few eyeballs.
Lame.
I'm game. I dropped him a message.
I think he disclaims TurboGrafx because it looks sorta like a Turbo Stick with orange knobs.
sent.
Hi. i was doing a search for "no turbo grafx" and this came up. Are you 100% sure there is no turbo grafx in this auction? i just want to make sure I never own one and I would be disappointed if one ever showed up at my house. I appreciate your clarity.
fuck off.
HAHA sounds like fun.

So I recently listed a Bonk 3 manual with a silly title just to see what it ends up going for. I will be selling it to the high bidder, but wanted to have some fun to see what kind of messages I get.
Here was one fun exchange (still going)...
First Question from him...

I HATE complications and if I were to purchase what you have pictured but was sent a " Super Mario Bros 3" manual as is stated in the title after having asked specifically if the pictured item was the actual item being sold, I would be furious!
So, before I bid on an item that I would like to own. I just want to make sure that we are both on the same page.

As funny as this is, you could get reported and put your seller account at risk messing with buyers like that, especially if one wins and pays. All it would take is the right guy working on the Trust and Safety side of things to step in on a fraud complaint and bury your account. You wouldn't be the first to lose an account either over a little fun.

Quote from: byrne1374Dear agent_orange,
Are you unaware that the auction you have up has a picture of the manual for BONK 3 but the title says"Super Mario Bros 3 manual for sega nomad"? I'm contacting Ebay because you don't appear capable of resolving this.
- byrne1374
Quote from: agent_orangeDear byrne1374,
there is nothing to "resolve". are you new to ebay? this is one of those scavenger hunt auctions. these are all the rage right now. people intentionally mix n match the title with description. the winning bidder is then surprised with what shows up. there are websites devoted to these auctions where people share some great finds where they have gotten items that others may have missed. it sounds like you may not be an appropriate bidder for this and i would not want a buyer to be disappointed. i am trying to answer your questions truthfully, but you seem to be aggravated over nothing so maybe for both of us you are better off not bidding on it.
- agent_orange
Quote from: byrne1374Dear agent_orange,
I'm aggravated because this is the 1st time you've offered up any kind of rationale for the contradicting information contained in your auction. There are unscrupulous people who would send the worthless super mario manual after purposefully attaching the much more valuable Bonk 3 picture and just let the buyer beware. That is why I asked and you never even acknowledged the fact that the title and picture do not sync. As to this new trend, I would think you would want anyone specifically searching for the item which you have for sale to have an easy time finding and bidding on said item. At the very least if not for the buyer, for the $$ you're missing out on.
- byrne1374
Quote from: agent_orangeDear byrne1374,
Thats the fun of it. You dont know what you will get.

Quote from: byrne1374Dear agent_orange,
It's like you're unable to answer simple questions w/out a complete run around. Do you get what's pictured the Bonk 3 manual or the completely worthless Mario Bros manual? It is not fun to bid on an item you want just to get some junk instead. If you are unable to definitively tell me what is actually for sale here then do not message me back.

To which I respond with:
dotsandloops .com/games/sosa2.jpg
A few days later, this message exchange happens:
Dear agent_orange,
I get a negative for leaving a positive? Do you understand the seriousness of negative feedback?
- sosagames
Dear sosagames,
Well, i paid quickly, so the positive you left was appropriate.
However, I was a little aggravated by the feedback. Another members feedback page is not a platform to advertise your seller account.
- agent_orange
Dear agent_orange,
You have a wall of positive feedback. My positive feedback only helps you and does no harm to you. People read negatives and neutrals, they don't read positives in general. Your negative does extreme damage to me. It may help me lose top rated, fee discounts that come with it, and is a vote to kick me off ebay.
If your paying quickly deserves a positive, how does my shipping quickly not matter and deserve a negative? Most people buy 1 item and never see the other 9000 so it's just an attempt to say that without a spam email. I respect your view but I didn't think it was at all controversial and doesn't break any rules.
- sosagames
Now, I'm conflicted on how to respond. Any suggestions?
haha. is it possible to retract a negative? I never even considered such blasphemy.
Assuming the transaction itself went smoothly, giving a negative solely for feedback is pretty shitty. Lots of sellers mention the name of their store in such a way, so what's the big deal?
ya take it back, i actually said "AAAAAWWWWW" out load as i read this.
your a big meany pants.

On a serious note, yea, removing it would be best. :D
Fucking stupid dick move there Agent. You could have left him a positive and a follow up comment just asking him not to do that kind of stuff. If the actual transaction went fine, then that is what the initial FB left should have been about. Contact ebay and let them know you want to remove or revise it. They can do so if you request it.

LOL. well, i could have done a lot of things. but this is what i went with.
i will decide what warrants a positive on my E2E transactions. and besides, he has over 100k feedback. so *shrugs* my one neg really means nothing.
lastly, the item i got didnt really match the description. so if i mentioned that, it could have been more damaging.
EVERYONE IS AVOIDING THE REAL ISSUE AT HAND:
What item did you purchase, and have you posted a pic of it on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, pcefx forums, Craigslist, Kelley Blue Book, Friendster, orkut, Pascal, LISP, racketboy forums?
I wouldn't leave a negative for a seller plugging their business account. I mean, I understand some aspect of annoyance to it, but they're just trying to make a living and there's no real harm in it if the transaction went smooth, etc...
Update: Since galam mentions lack of satisfaction in that the item didn't quite match the description, that is something I have left negative feedback for, so that renders it a non-issue for me. He had an alternate reason for leaving negative feedback than what he actually stated in writing, basically.
I got trolled, never mind... :/
EDITx2: Shit, this was in Fighting Street too, didn't notice that till after...

Calling bullshit on that. The game was listed for $3.99 and as "Acceptable" with "cosmetic wear". In that kind of listing you should expect a lot of wear on that loose crap Bo Jackson Baseball game. You are only stating that after the fact of us hassling you over being an asshole.
But hey, I tell you what, I put you on my blocked bidder list if you kindly give me your real ebay id? This way I don't have to sweat you fucking with my ebay feedback in the future over something ridiculously petty. You have zero idea how stupid shit like that makes people like me leery of dealing with certain buyers when we see that kind of stuff being done. This is exactly why I wish ebay didn't start masking the names of buyers on the feedback they leave.
Oh nm, I remember who you are, dealisdead.

And in case you missed it Agent:
"Acceptable: An item with obvious and significant wear but is still operational. May have tears or holes in VHS/DVD box. The video game instructions and box may not be included. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections."
yup. we had a good transaction.
as for the auction, i actually only bought it because there was no photo and i was curious as to what "cosmetic wear" meant to the seller. it came with really no wesr at all. so by definition, it didnt match description.

Well, this is "troll time". I'd be disappointed if it was filled with legitimate beefs and logical arguments.
It's crystal charging time!
Yeah but its stupid as fuck all to troll legit sellers offering cheap games who are doing right. There are very few of them operating on that kind of scale who manage to not get tons of negatives each month. Ebay needs more sellers like that around, and doing shit like this is just a way to ensure they wont be. The neg wasn't justified, and it just tells me I want no further dealings with Agent given his viewpoint on the situation. People leaving undue negatives on the whim are not the types I want to continue to sell to.

My fav part about this is the whole time Agent has been
trolling, he hasn't had the guts to post his legit ebay id on here, so he edits out "dealisdead" and inserts "agent_orange" in its place every single fucking time he post a copy of a message.
thats just so its easier to follow. no need in throwing a third name out when following the quotes. the name is no secret and neither is my feedback.
and if its a discussion on strictly feedback, actually banning me would be sort of counter productive for you. since im somewhat familiar with you here, chances are i would never neg you because i would trust your listing right out of the gate.

Doubtful. No one would have any issue figuring out it was you with you being the one on here posting the messages saying they were yours.

I am simply not willing to take that risk with you. I tend to prefer any customers I have to be buyers who do right by sellers. I do my best to filter out the assholes or people who come off as questionable due to their behavior on transactions, how they handle disputes, and the kind of feedback they leave.
I felt this needed re stating.
