I just got a pcengine and I got no games to test the system out. I was thinking of just buying a sports game like rbi baseball for like 4.00 to make sure it works. If all goes well what do you recommend I get as my first purchase that I should get on the pcengine. I was really thinking of street fighter 2 but I don't know if I need an adapter or something like that to make it work for the pcengine.
What type of games are you into?
If you just want anything grab the cheapest one you can find to test with.
no, you do not need an adapter to play a pc engine game on a pc engine
Shoot me a PM. Ive a got extra loose hueys that you can use to test the system. All I'd ask is for you to pay shipping, which should be minimal for a few hueys. :)
and man there are a ton of great games on the PC engine.
take a look at this thread:

Seeing Piper there just saddens me from yesterday. In a way Piper is like the tg16 and the pcengine. Ohh hulk Hogan is the snes the most popular system/wrestler ever but the pcengine,/tg16, like Piper was the better wrestler and better heel than hulk hogan
No adapter needed to play SFII on a PCE. You may want to get a 6 button controller if you don't have one already.
If i had a pc engine, the first game i would get is bikkuriman world... This damned game is only for the pc engine! ;( the day will come...
SON SON II, son.

Oooo, good one. Also Genji Tsuushin Agedama.
Sonson 2 looks fun. The other game that was mentioned, isn't that wonderboy?

Yes it is, wonderboy in monster land.
Gamola Speed or Jackie Chan...

No, it's a part of a Japanese multimedia series. Just go on YouTube & look it up, or better yet, watch the Game Sack episode where they mention it (one of the Left in Japan episodes, I think? Just google the episode guide).
Also, second on Gomola Speed. It's a great action/puzzle game.
Gomola Speed is not the best choice for a starter game, imo.
Good starter games are:
Mr heli
Bomberman 93, 94
Super dodgeball
Bonk's adventure
Parasol stars
Twinbee
Cadash
Parodius
These all have very fair difficulty and are all 5 star games.

You're not kidding. Mas loves to collect. And then sell everything off. And then collect again. And then sell everything off.
Ad infinitum.

I kind of agree, but what's your reasoning? I think it'd be a great title to get along with another, better title to start with, as it's a cheap game & there's nothing else like it.
If my near-exclusively-Mario/Tetris-loving (although I've gotten her obsessed with Crazy Taxi here lately) girlfriend can get addicted to it, then I think anyone should be able to pick it up.
