So I finally got a Super CD-ROM and before I try running a SuperGrafx on it, I want to make sure that I have the power supplied correctly.
The little cable which runs from the CD-ROM to a CoreGrafx doesn't fit. Do I need to hook the SGX power supply directly to it AND use the SCD power supply separately, like some kind of 32X setup?
Yep. Connecting each system with a unique adapter works just fine. :)
Although Bonknuts said that he was able to splice together a custom cable to go from the Super CD-ROM to the Supergrafx, and that also worked fine, apparently.
Have fun!

Yep, you can buy SuperCD->SuperGrafx power cables from GameDoctorHK

Or there's an adapter plug that will convert the existing cable to fit in the SuperGrafx.
Or you can just use 2 power supplies.
Welcome to the SuperGrafx/SuperCDROM club! :D
Just came to post this after reading Sam's response:

That adapter was discussed here not too long ago...

Yes, it works great. Been meaning to post pic in the other thread... might do one day. It was a great suggestion.
What are the volt/amp rating of the power supplies you guys are running for the single input SGX+SCD combo? The SGX is already a bit higher than the base system (extra chips), so I when with a 1.2amp AC adapter. Also, I just made my own plug.
my only concern with it is the SCDR2 has a regulator in it for the PCE power, that will run hotter with more load

RetroGameCave used to sell these. Pity that guy doesn't stock much of anything nowadays.
I always wondered why the Sega CD and 32X didn't just handle it this way.
