I have a stack of loose PCE Hueys that I don't want.
I'll take a picture later since I'm at work, but there's Victory Run, R-Type I, maybe Samurai Ghost and some other shit in there. There's maybe 8 of them, I dunno.
Edit: Got the stack in front of me now. Necromancer, Energy, R-Type I, Victory Run, Space Harrier, Samurai Ghost, some fucken Mahjong Academy deal, Benkei Gaiden, Momotarou Densetsu Turbo, and Super Momotarou Dentetsu 2.
Here's the deal though. This isn't going to be a random drawing. So how do you win this AMAZING STACK OF OBEY?
Guess the final total of the RetroVGS crowdfunding campaign, without going over!

Since we don't know how long the campaign will be, I am going to have to set an arbitrary end date/time once it gets posted, but it's going to be SOON, so get your guesses in now!!!
Normal raffle rules apply. No n00blets, leeches, flippers, or people I don't like (which is like 3 people, so probably not you.)
This post was formatted to make it look as obnoxious as possible, but I assure you that this raffle is real.

Is it too early to say $1?
I am going to go out on a limb and say $34, 156 - about 85 people at $400... I am going to further guess that 83 of those backers have Battlesphere on their shelves.
I would like to guess, but dont want to enter the raffle :) I can't find a link to the campaign, my google fu is failing me and apparently they are not advertising this campaign very well if it's not find-able easily lol
Dammit, Samurai Ghost? Really? :(
I can't do it. I've won too many raffles lately. Plus I don't have enough vested interest in the VGS to guess what the KS will raise.
Lots of turbokarma your way, though. I'll find another loosie for the $250 Samurai Ghost manual I got from Galam...

They have a Facebook page. I don't have a link, though.
You should enter the raffle, anyway. If you win, you can tell me to send the stuff to the person of your choosing.
I might be wrong about Samurai Ghost. I'll look when I get home, and take a pic of everything. And they are ALL PC Engine Hueys. No TG16 stuff.

Sure, I'll enter then. I might want one of the hueys (fantasy zone in there somewhere?!) but I'll likey defer if I win :)
After I see the campaign I'll post a guess, but I am guessing they make 50k+ considering that gamster 81 guy made ~12k last year for a single game
Tee-hee, I'll play along. There's a lot of collectard wishful thinkers that hate money, so I'll go kinda high at $2,458,246.
Don't enter me to the 'raffle' but... $50,000?
$453.00 is my guess
Hahahhajahajja!
I love this raffle :)
I don't want to officially enter the raffle (I own all the PCE games already), but I want to take a guess.

I'm going with $1,500,002.

I think 850,000. :3
10 million dollars and sharks with frickin' lasers! :D
TBH it probably won't go that high.
Sounds fun. I'm in and betting on $500.00
This is cool! Great idea! I'd like to bid $956,000 Drew
I don't want these games, and you don't like me too much. That said, this idea is fucking hilarious, and I think everyone has way more faith in the Retro VGS than I do. I think they'll fall way short of their goal, and only raise $4,500. The thing reeks of massive failure.
People seem to be strangely against them going with indiegogo over Kickstarter. Not sure if that will sway some people's bids ;)

Well, I don't dislike you enough to exclude you, so your entry has been accepted. If you win, you can just let someone else have the games.

+1 for pointer sisters reference.
You didn't even have to post the artwork.
Sticking with $50,000.00 I'm certain there are enough people who want to create more stuff to collect :)
I'm not sure if I'm still too noob to enter. I won't loose any sleep over it either way. But the premise behind this thread is just to amazing to not be involved.
I think there are enough collectards and people drinking the kool-aid to get a decent amount of money. But it won't be the 7000 install base they are hoping for. My vote is $523,251. Which by my estimations is a little over 1200 people backing at an average of a little over $400.
I'll bite. 325,000

I agree. The hardcore supporters have been waiting for the campaign to go live, It's been live now for over 6 hours and they have less than $50k. It's a LONG road to $1.95 million.
No more guesses, bitches. I mean, you can still post guesses but they will no longer count towards the raffle.
Someone posted this link over at AtariAge - It shows the forecast likelihood of achieving funding:
http://crowdcharts.com/campaign/retro-vgs (http://crowdcharts.com/campaign/retro-vgs)
It was over 70% a few hours ago and is now down to 60%.
Yeah it already looks like it has slowed down considerably. Still I will be surprised if it ends outside of the JohnnyKonami to esteban range.
I am kind of surprised no one came in with their guess being that it will succeed.

I last checked the campaign 8 hours ago, and it was at $47k. It's at $52k now. Not good for the RetroVGS...
Yeah it pretty much slowed to a crawl after the first 4 hours. Also the average is about 350 a person so far. I'm starting to think I way overshot this.

I've been checking this indiegogo rvgs thing out more than I care to admit. But I just looked into it and it seems there have only been 27 backers in the last 24 hours. This thing is basically dead in the water. But some pointless speculation anyway.
IMO a best case scenario would have them maintain this lethargic pace until one final big push at the end. If this occurs it just may hit around my initial prediction. With a real nice push at the end the victory may actually go to me. Or more likely in true "Price is Right" fashion ToyMachine78 will be the closest without going over.
A more likely scenario will have them maintain this current pace or slightly less till the end with no real boost at the end. And this race is going to be between JohnnyKonami and ToyMachine78.
Of course it could further stagnate...

I'm wondering if they are going to shut this down early and try to regroup.
Well, if they shut it down early then we will just go with whatever the backer total was when they ended it. And I too think that they are going to shut it down early. Having that seriously-underfunded campaign hanging out there, along with the foot that Mike Kennedy keeps sticking in his mouth, is just about the worst PR that you can get.
I am hoping some of the backers, keep on backin' - OUT, that is... get it back down to $35K. K?
Since it looks like it's going to be a dead issue any time now, it would seem unfair, so I'll take the price is Right approach, you'll all be wrong and....

Had they used Kickstarter, they could have more easily done that. Hell, they might still do that a day or two before the campaign ends. Any "shill backers" backing the thing now would have to wait almost 2 months to get their money back.
It's back to 182 from 186 backers earlier today. Maybe I still do have a shot!

Wow this thing is moving backwards. I've never seen such. I wonder if they are feeling that cold hard reality now or if they are still delusional.
Maybe if they lash out at more people and state once again that only they know best, they'll stop losing pledges and start gaining them again.
For the lazy and uninitiated, I say someone should post the current $$$. For posterity. So we can look back and say that on this date, at this time, it was _____.
Regarding the lost backers yesterday:
When the campaign lost about 5 backers, one of the 3 RVGS guys tried to sugarcoat the situation in a post on facebook, stating that someone had made a false pledge of over $1000 and then reneged right away.
Um... that is not what happened at all...

If they wanted to instill confidence, they wouldn't even bring up a handful of backers backing out, they'd just calmly move forward and have everyone believe they expect to make it up as the campaign moved along. 5 backers is nothing to lose your shit over, even when the projections overall aren't good for them. That's the domain of internet forum peeps like us, to nitpick over minutia. It's not a bad thing to be that way, mind you, but certainly not a good image for these guys to have. They have to maintain some sort of press filter to keep up appearances of professionalism.
Of course that's long been thrown out the window.

Good Morning ! I wanted let you all know we will be interviewing with a neutral third party who has objectively been reporting on this venture since the beginning. We believe that after this interview, all will become quite more clear to all of you. In the meantime, please consider backing our venture to get the campaign ball rolling a bit faster. If we can't convince you in time, you can always cancel your contribution.
If you have believed in what we are trying to accomplish then please show your support early on. We are also hoping the press will pick this up soon, but it will help to get the contribution #'s moving in the positive direction. Also, please don't let the higher minimum goal deter you from contributing. It represents 6,000-7,000 people which isn't a large # when compared to other higher profile games and hardware projects that have been successfully funded in the past. It also represents a minimum amount of users coming out of the campaign to build on for our early developers who have so graciously come on board to have games ready for you day one. And it also yields us enough operating capital (after cost of goods) to run the business efficiently and deliver the product to you in a timely manner.

Is the SoCalMikeBawks gonna make it?
getting close again to my guess:
$63,775USD
The Gamester81 interview seems to have the opposite effect of what they wanted
edit:
another person backed out so getting even closer
$63,436USD

This is hilarious!
So it's gonna back into a winner. That's awesome!

420? I want what this guy's smoking!
this guy gets the late joke, but if we're looking for honesty - at this point I'd be amazed if they get another penny

Looks like it just took another decent hit. Down to $63,925. I don't think you can cancel an indiegogo campaign after someone pledges.

That will make this even sweeter.
Of course, y'all we see a surge in pledges during the final 12-18 hours....
$666,666.

It was down to $63,888 before the $10 & $37 "anonymous" pledges.
4 of the last 5 "backers" have been "anonymous" and either $37 or $10.
Looks like there's a few fans of the system trying to stop the whole thing from just becoming a stampede out.
[EDIT 3:15PM PST]
Another 3 "full-system" backers gone, down to $62,733.
Yeah, looking like I way overshot this one. My expectation was that it would get a slow trickle of backers everyday, but it's been more like a drip. That a plumber keeps fixing.
I think this console misses the trick that people want to play retro games for the games themselves and not just because it is a physical thing. This console doesn't play retro games.
I think it will barely get higher than $74,000 before the bottom falls out if it hasn't already

I think seieienbu has a chance still since people are backing out.

It's clearly going to end at $666,666.
All this idle speculation is silly. :)

Looks like 63,546 is the number - they have posted that they are pulling the plug on the IGG campaign... Mike posted that they will be taking it down as soon as IGG tells them how to do it...
Again - typical Mike style - posting in public too soon. Why didn't he just find out how to cancel the campaign, cancel it, and then post something about it? Cart before horse syndrome.
Now, here is what I hope to happen:
Backers see that Mike is asking for IGG's help in taking down the campaign, withdraw their pledges early, bringing the total down to MY NUMBER, and I win the sweet stack o hueys... Yessir!
Since the campaign has been announced as over, I am going to go with $63,546 as the final number. Congrats to mickcris! I'll PM you to get your shipping info.
Is he close enough to win both showcases?
haha what an exciting raffle, thanks Jibbajabba for putting it on - how addictive to watch! I thought I had chance, congrats mickcris!!
Thanks Jibba! It was fun.
Congrats mickcris! At least someone gets to profit off the RVGS!
Thanks. For some reason I kept thinking the retrovgs was supposed to stay under my guess amount not above so I thought I was out. :) I haven't been watching enough price as right recently.
So mickcris doesn't actually want the HuCards. Should I just offer them to the next-closest contestant, then? Gredler, isn't that you?
Sorry, I hope I didn't screw up the raffle. I really didn't think I had any chance of being close.
I think Gredler was in the same boat as me:
Quote from: Gredler on 09/17/2015, 03:41 PMI would like to guess, but dont want to enter the raffle :) I can't find a link to the campaign, my google fu is failing me and apparently they are not advertising this campaign very well if it's not find-able easily lol
Thanks Jibb, Mickcris, if you want to ship them my way I would play them and then re-raffle them soon :) I wont hold onto them for very long if you do send them, or you can defer to the person below me if it's a more permanent home :)
Fun game. Good show all around. Congrats to the winner. See you all again for round 2!
I created this raffle primarily for teh lulz but secondarily to get this stack of god damned hucards off of my desk. Someone freaking PM me your address so that I can send them to you. And by someone I mean Gredler.

Repeatedly.
I'm getting old, so just once and then I need a nap.

Duly noted. :)
Did I win?
Send em to me so I can get big clear acrylic cases and slap VGA grading "05 shit" then sell em on eBay for $10,000 each.
I promise to raffle the money here (less eBay's cut, I think tops at 10% or $500) for the lucky SOB.
Danm Jib - this is too much good stuff, holy crap.

You're too kind to have sent me all of this stuff for this silly little raffle, I had fun enough just guessing and talking with you all about it, but it looks like there is a lot more fun for me ahead with these things.
I hope these stickers are not original or collectardable because they are about to be stuck on my keggerator , helmet, and and possibly car - so rad!
Thanks again man, this is too much!
Sorry I pulled a Nulltard and took so long to send you the stuff. The stickers are neither original nor collectable. I forgot who sent them to me, but they came with some games that I bought from someone here a long time ago. I'm guessing that Sparky made them (that's where I got the Splatterhouse sticker).
Wow amazing!
Damn, some good shiiieeet!!!
