Title: Which paper would you use to print a game manual?
Post by: toktogul on 11/05/2015, 12:39 AM
As the title states, I would like to print my own manual for a copy of a game I bought without the front cover (manual). Its a super cd game, so I usually never buy non CIB games, but the price was perfect so I went for it. Not trying to resell or anything, I just want to find a good way of making it look good. I have already found the scan of the cover, I simply need to know what kind of paper looks the best in a jewel case.

thank you very much for your help.

I like semi-gloss photo paper.  Make sure you have a high quality / high resolution picture and use a good printer.

If it's a full manual, I'd use a decent quality 24lb paper; if it's just a four panel insert (front and back cover fold over), I'd use some heavy 110lb paper.  I print on a blazing lazer printer, so no glossy stuff.

Bernie, I knew somebody just had to say it as soon as I saw the thread's title.

yup just want the front and back, so I will use the scan from pc engine bible, and hopefully with the description of paper and method you listed they will understand what I want at the photo shop. I was worried about the gloss being annoying, but the way you describe it sounds very nice.

thank you for your answer
