I just got a restored PC Engine Duo, and I have a few questions about how to use it. (I can't find any documentation or tutorials online.) I've had a CoreGrafx for a while, so I know the basics, but I've never used a Duo before.

1. Do I have to remove whatever game is in the HuCard slot in order to play a CD game?
2. Am I able to save data from certain HuCard games to the Duo's save memory? If so, how?
3. How do I edit the save data on the system? For example, if I want to delete save files.

1. Yes.  The only hueys that can be inserted when you want to play a cd are system cards.

2. Yes.  Saving will either be automatic (like with high scores) or you'll choose a save option from inns, pause menu, etc.  It works the same way game saves work in cd games, which is the same as saving in genny, snes, nes, etc. games.

3. Press Select on the BIOS boot screen.  The first option is 'delete', which will allow you to see and delete each individual save file; the second option is 'format', which will delete all saves and is sometimes necessary if the save ram gets corrupted; and the third option is 'end', which takes you back to the boot screen.

1: Yes.

2: Yes. Same as cart games. Some games give you the option of using a password instead. There are common sense things to take into account, like not being able to save if the back-up ram is full. If you've played any other disc-based consoles, it should all be second nature, as they're all based on this.

3: Press Select at the System Card screen to delete saves or format the back-up memory.

I was thinking the same thing.  :)   Shit, even I still forget the order of the options in the BIOS screen sometimes.
