Thanks

I'm wondering if it is possible to replace the plug on the DUO with one from a CD-ROM2 or PCE so I can use an MD PSU? Same for the SCD2 and IFU. The main thing I wonder about is the fact that CD-ROM2 and PCE's are centre negative whilst the other two are centre positive.
Well, for the TurboDuo and PC Engine Duo's you can grab a Sega 1602 PSU and this cable.

Far cheaper than buying an original PSU.
I would jump on that if I was in the US. I instead decided to buy a DUO and IFU PSU from Retro Game Supply. Not cheap as it was in Euro's, which is an worse conversion rate for me than the US$, but I guess it will be worth it. I will need to make another order for a SG+SCD2 and RX PSU, seeing as the cheap POS RX plug I bought from HK Game Doctor (with its pathetic 10cm cord!) is playing up.

This one is cheaper http://www.ebay.com/itm/Top-DC-Charger-Connector-Adapter-6-0x3-0mm-Male-Laptop-to-2-1x5-5-mm-Female-Plug-/271665355178?hash=item3f408459aa:g:WzYAAOSwdpxUYdCc (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Top-DC-Charger-Connector-Adapter-6-0x3-0mm-Male-Laptop-to-2-1x5-5-mm-Female-Plug-/271665355178?hash=item3f408459aa:g:WzYAAOSwdpxUYdCc)
Damn! Now THAT is what I have been looking for! Too bad I already ordered the DUO PSU
I used the power supply for PS2 slim for my Duo-R. The first one I got was a clone that looked a lot like real Sony brand, it was causing noisy video. Got rid of it and found a real Sony brand, it's been working fine since then.
Nice thing about PS2 slim, it doesn't hog the outlet space like many wallwart do, including Sega adapters.

keep in mind that this adapter does not switch polarity to those that would buy it. You would need to to use it with a center positive 5.5mm x 2.1mm tip power supply. The cable listed by MNKyDeth does switch polarity so it can be used with the Sega Model 1 Genesis supply on a Duo.
The above adapter does work well for use with a supergrafx and SCD2:
