Wonder why so many Sega ports to PC Engine seem better overall than Genesis versions? It's because Sega themselves made them!

I can't quote the key sentences, because SegaNerds' don't want their exclusive insider info being re-posted.
Their logic that having the "having the original developer in the driving seat" is why the port turned out so well, doesn't make sense when you take into account the games which aren't as impressive on Genesis.
OK I'm not even halfway through the review but... Tengen/Sunsoft Afterburner and Fantasy Zone for the NES weren't authorized/licensed by sega? WTF?
Is this another case of the writer being a wikipedia/emulator know it all? Did they get confused with the NINTENDO gamepak license?
So uh, where's the source for Sega developing PCE ports of their arcade games? What an inside scoop!

I always thought they were Dempa developed games. I think that's just Hardcore Gaming 101 style writing: focus on one port, give the other 15 ports a cursory glance in an emulator and write incorrect facts about them.
It's just typical overnight-game-historian b.s. by people who don't understand several basic concepts and suffer from common aense cancer.
The worst part about fame seekers like this is that they insist on putting out educational content, which now makes up the majority of what's out there. So all of the pretend experts are swapping b.s. facts when they sit down to write an article in an hour on subjects they aren't familiar with. Googling as you write like this is how I picture kids today doing homework and writings essays.
My guess is that the SegaNerds are a couple of 13 year olds.
Good read, I have the 32X version of Space Harrier and I love it a lot.
I have the real scoop. Actually, it's old news now:
THE CUTEST SPACE HARRIER POSTERIOR IS...

Our final version of Space Harrier released in the year 1988 is none other than a port to the Turbo Grafx-16. This time it is SEGA themselves at the reins, with NEC Avenue acting as publisher.
How does this 16-bit next generation version of Space Harrier hold up? As you would expect with the original developer back in the driving seat, this port was an instant hit.
More Like SegaTurds Amirite?
I feel like all the real information about games and their development is found digging through obscure blogs and forum posts. Or shmuplations (http://shmuplations.com/); that site is a treasure-trove.

That blog is run by Will Wheaton, IIRC.
