The content is probably nothing super exciting for anyone here, but I figured folks might be interested in knowing a major gaming site played a Turbo game. They mention using a Wiimote, so I'm going to go ahead and say they're playing on Virtual Console. Other than that, I'm not knowledgable enough to point out anything other than I'm pretty sure they're confused about when Johnny Turbo happened.

Hmmm, IIRC, Johnny Turbo came after Zonk, though, maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Johnny Turbo was created so close to the end of the Turbo line that it was made as a joke, because they knew it was the end. People who take it seriously and say stupid things, like it was one of the reasons the TG-16 "bombed", are always trying to sound like they're familiar with the Turbo library, when in reality they just did a 2 minute google search.

A gaming website that hasn't been relevant in years is now posting Let's Play videos.

Oh god Let's Plays. These things are so godawful. I have friends in my dorm who want to drop hundreds of dollars on capture software because they have "the craziest times in GTA V LOL".

I may just need to get new friends. I shudder every time they talk about it.

Eh, still pretty cool bonk 2 is getting some more exposure!

I agree that bonk 2's verticality was a nice addition and allowed for more intricate level design. Kinda like Mario 2 USA compared to Mario 1.

It's good that they really liked Bonk, but the whole Johnny Turbo thing is rather ridiculous.  How could anyone be aware of Johnny Turbo and yet totally ignorant of how and when he came to be?  First marketing effort..... for fuck's sake.  :lol:

Exactly.  They're hoping to have clone system unboxing videos rolled out by Q1 2017.

I saw it said IGN so that was a cue for me to completely ignore it.  Talk about late to the party IGN.

Some dumb ass (troll, or wannabe nerd?) was constantly changing the TG-16 entry in Wikipedia for a year or three. This was probably 10 years ago. 

Basically, the relevance/role of Johnny Turbo was painfully overstated.

I think it was all rooted in the (admittedly) amusing commentary Sardius wrote concerning Johnny Turbo many, many moons ago. Folks with absolutely no knowledge of TG-16 took Sardius as gospel.
