I was thinking and I wondered what 3 games I'd want on our beloved machine if given the chance to make them a reality.
So, here are mine
Gunsmoke - I put so many quarters into this machine as a kid, and I think it would make a good fit
Black Tiger - Why? Because it's fucking Black Tiger, that's why...
Rolling Thunder, another stealer of my quarters back in the day
Honorable mentions:
Gyruss, take a TG/PCE shooter and make it have a baby with Tempest...and Gyruss is born
Punch Out, arcade punch out...none of this mike tyson nonsense.
Simpsons/TMNT/Xmen aka any multi Konami arcade machine, put that tap to use...
Off the top of my head
konami TMNT
Last Resort

might edit and change them
Damn, the system covers a shit ton as it is...
But
Eagle/Moon Cresta/another name I'm forgetting
Ghouls and Ghosts
Asteroids

cabal
a light gun
Mega Zone (Konami) @ forgotten @under-appreciated @ice-rink @fell in love with vertz shooterz
Time Soldiers (SNK) @forgotten @under-appreciated @deli-down-the-block @will never happen because you need dual rotating joysticks
Karnov (Data East) @you want to use all the items you acquire @this is the only Karnov @Famicom/NES port is fantastic, so PCE version should be MAGNIFICENT.

TMNT for sure. A turtles game on the PCE would have been so awesome!
Metal Slug. We got some SNK games, but this would have been awesome.
I'm torn in a third choice. T2 with a light gun or maybe mouse support might have been cool. SmashTV would be cool as well.

As an owner of a Battlefield (Time Soliders) pcb, I must say I really don't care for it. Some good idea, but really flawed execution. And it's actually an ADK, not SNK game. However a proper PCE port of Ikari and Victory Road would be pretty damn sweet.

Wow, it was ADK? My memory sucks. I could have sworn it was SNK.
I haven't really played (arcade cab) since....1988? It was at the local deli...it was a blast to play.
Here's want I liked:
Constant action
Constant changing stages/themes (time periods)
Sweet controls (nicely executed)
Blasting the crap out of everything on the screen, from all directions, was great!
I played with friends frequently, which was really nice (yet another way to enjoy the game...a really nice co-op experience)
Characters moved faster and unloaded weapons faster than Ikari Warriors (another game we played all the time), so Time Soldiers was like MS PAC MAN to Ikari Warriors' PAC MAN (if you get the analogy).
I haven't played arcade Victory Road in a long time (I have NES port)...but I really enjoyed it, too. However, I still maintain that Time Soldoers had a swifter (and dare I say more satisfying!?) feel and flow to it.
Ikari Warrior + Victory Road are great, but the pacing is very different. I appreciate deliberate and controlled pacing...but sometimes you just want adrenaline rush (Time Warriors was released at a time when most of its kin were slower/plodding).
This is why I love Gun.Smoke...swift, solid game. Really refreshing when it came out, and holds up well, even in 2016.
:)

I remember being so let down that the nes port of ninja gaiden was a completely different game and not a beat em up. I loved the arcade game. Played the hell out of it at sportlanes bowling alley.
Now that I'm older, and after revisiting both after years of playing them, I realize what a fantastic game the console port is, and I prefer it.
My three:
Double Dragon 1
Robocop
MERCS
A better port of Strider would of been amazing, I friggin' love that game.
I want that awesome Super Grafx port we were promised.
Also I remember reading in early 1993 that Konami were working on a Turtles game for the PC Engine. I've always wondered whether it was an arcade port or original game and how far it was developed.
Ghost and Goblins
final Fight
Any konami multi player beat em up!
NEC should have dugged in their pockets for a Super Street Fighter II X port
Samurai Showdown 1 ACD
Final Fight
Like Otaking said, a better port of Strider.
We got Parasol Stars but I would've loved to see Bubble Bobble.
...and I found this. Was this ever posted?

EDIT: Well I'm slow as balls and live 5 Trillion miles under a rock. Don't worry. I won't poke the sleeping bear about this, but now a ton of others probably will.
Because I love light gun games...
Lucky & Wild
Chiller
Because I like multi-player games:
Sunset Riders
Off Road
Yeah I gave 4, so what?
Shaolin Road
Goemon
Bonk Arcade
Would have loved to seen more beat'em ups and run 'n guns.
Final Fight
TMNT
Contra
Heavy Barrel (with rotating stick which leads to version of Ikari and Victory Road as well).
Arcade version of Ninja Gaiden
Ivan Stewart's Off Road (is there resolution for this?).
You know, I was a HUGE fan of Victory Road back in the day but that game just isn't fun for me anymore. I still love Combat, Space Invaders, Carnival, Pong, whatever. Victory Road is maybe the first game to become "dated" to me. At the time the allure of Victory Road was that it played the same as the first game and it was weird as fuck. Maybe I just need to focus on the weird.
I want to say Contra but I really don't care for the arcade version.
1. Sunset Riders
2. TMNT
3. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (the arcade game not the SEGA CD "sequel".
Basically, any decent run and guns or beat em ups would be awesome as those are both genre's turbo/pce is light in.
I agree with CrackTiger. Its apprpriate for the time frame and didnt see a proper home version. My other choices would be 1943 (hated the nes version and not a fan of kai) and escape from the planet of the robot monsters (atari 1989). I loved ataris hardware at that time, including the awesome Toobin!
Little Nemo (Capcom)
Bucky O'Hare (Konami)
Sunset Riders(" ") - Or - Cowboys of Moo Mesa (" ")
Legend of Kage, Gun.Smoke, and maybe like, Magician Lord or something.
i would choose
lightning fighters
final fight
mortal kombat
- KOF 94 or 95
- Dragon Ninja
- Secret Agent
And Snow Bros, Cabal, a complete version of Shinobi...

For me the biggest draw of Victory Road is the sheer destruction in the game, pretty much everything blows up. You can go around the mountains, or blast your way through them. However the game is all about the sword. Once you reach the sword, it becomes a very intense game, as you are absolutely fucked without it.
Heavy Barrel is also still fantastic, for roto games, I think SAR: Search and Rescue is easily the best of the genre, but it came out well after the MVS, so it was a rather rare game. I had never heard of it until just a few years ago, and is the main reason I started to collect roto-game pcbs.

Primal Rage is a pretty good fighter that had a fairly odd control style. Primal Rage 2 is an unreleased arcade game that only two exist, one of which is at Galloping Ghost. I really enjoyed the little bit I played and NOW DEMAND A PORT.
I'd also like to add Golden Axe. A proper port of the game would be most excellent.

The NES and SNES version had an option to use two controllers together to simulate the twin stick setup, so you could do it that way.
As far as not requiring anything but one standard pad, maybe when you press the button you fire in the direction you're facing, and continue firing in that direction as long as you hold the button down. Not ideal, but probably workable.
Of all the arcade games that I enjoyed there are two games that I felt empty about what we had for ports.
Shinobi
Ninja Gaiden
Rastan Saga
While I was exposed to subpar ports like Final Fight snes even if I was in denial up until I opened it on Christmas morning that it was just single player. At least passable options existed on the Sega CD. The PCE Shinobi while the best port of the time is still lacking a little too much. Same with Rastan Saga, and while Ninja Gaiden on the nes is my favorite nes game, The arcade game was always what I wanted to play as a kid.
Final Fight isn't even that good in the arcade. Big sprites, whoopie.

It is a game that doesn't hold up that well. When it came out it was incredible, but something is missing when you go back to it.
My first choice would be Gradius 3. With 1 and 2 already on the platform, it would make sense (definitely more sense than the slow-as-mollasses port on the SNES).
After that, I always liked Magic Sword and the SNES port leaves out a lot of assets and charm of the arcade. With the added space of a Super CD the game could be much less neutered.
Beyond that, the internet rumored Turbo exclusive Mortal Kombat would have been pretty neat. Mostly I'm just curious how well the game would have worked assuming it had 6 button support (and possibly Arcade Card support...)
I'd like to see Badlands.

One of the many reasons. An arranged soundtrack option would be sick.
The Konami Simpsons game would be cool and unlike TMNT there was no other ports. I loved playing it as a kid, although in hindsight it's mostly mediocre.
What I would really like to see, and probably doesn't count for this thread, is the NES version of Rygar upgraded with the arcade version's graphics

Mediocre maybe but still a whole lot of fun. The amount of 20p coins I stuck in a Simpsons machine at a holiday camp is unfathomable. Spent hours on that thing, it plays well. Prefer TMNT overall though.
I honestly think if Konami had made a PC Engine TMNT and Contra game and then released them along with Dracula X in the US for the Turbo Duo (Super CD), I feel history would of fared a lot better for the console outside Japan.

I grew up in a small town without any arcades so when I did get a chance to go to the neighboring town to play, I absolutely loved the game. Of course as a child I didn't have enough quarters to find out how repetitive the game is, particularly in the reusue of sprites, but then again Xmen is the same way.

Double Dragon had better music and better level design.
I am torn over which of the two games had better character design... both were done very well in this department.
I was a sucker for the bonus stages in Final Fight.
I do really love the arranged Final Fight music on Sega CD, and I'm pleased with how it looks on that system. I don't think the Turbo would have added much more to FF than the SNES. My vote is definitely for a serious "Arcade Perfect" 4 player TMNT. The 9 year old me is just going crazy thinking about it.
Would the USA really have rallied around the Duo if Konami made these ports? I don't know. I feel like the damage that had been dealt early in the 16-Bit war would prove too costly. The multi-platform games that support a console after you purchase it for a system seller like Rondo, Contra, or TMNT don't exist on Turbo. It's how today's Wii-U has to deal. None of the bros buy it for a game like Smash and stick around BC Madden and COD are there too. It becomes niche, and I think Turbo would have unfortunately stayed that way, even though I wanted so badly for people to love it when I was a kid.
So many good choices. I agree having konami games on tg16 around that time would have been huge! Tmnt arcade was super hot, and the nes port so lacking.
I remember loving the Punisher in arcades at the time, and has been mentioned a good version of Mortal Kombat II would've been cool. The only other I can think of is a hombrew effort - Bubble Bobble!

Speedy continuous action-guaranteed player satisfaction.
I thought I posted a list of three a few months ago but I couldn't recall what I posted so I looked and found out that I didn't. Hurray! I get to ponder what arcade games I'd want on Turbo again!
More than any other game, I wish we had received a US release of Street Fighter 2. This was easily my favorite game for years back when it was released. This was the second release of the game for home releases after SF2 World Warrior on the SNES so things were still super hot for the franchise.
Aside from that, an authentic port of Bionic Commando sounds pretty good to me. I feel like it would make a good HuCard title. It's on the shorter side of things (about as long as Legend of Hero Tonma) but I remember having a lot of fun playing it when I was a kid. I was disappointed with how different the NES version was when I rented it as a kid; that being said I do quite like the NES version and have since that initial bit of disappointment paid off.
Finally, I'd definitely like another brawler on the platform. I guess I'd prefer something like the Simpsons or Xmen that didn't have a home port. Having turbo tap support for 4 players on the Simpsons with an Arcade CD sounds like it might be feasible and definitely would've been fun to play.
Donkey Kong - arcade perfect port... since there isn't one on a console...

That's why I said:
Mega Zone (were there any ports, ever?)
Time Soldiers (not sure how to handle dual rotating joysticks, but folks have suggested an option for two pads used simulate roust)
And....cr@p, what was my third?
I'll remember it in a bit...

I would like a "higher speed" version of Ikari Warriors (or the sequel) for PCE, the real answer was Karnov.

I knew it!! Karnov was such a great arcade port
I was always so disappointed with the NES version :\
Willow (so glad to see others loved this as well)
TMNT
Bad Dudes or Rastan
Bad Dudes would look really good with the Grafx's ability to handle larger sprites. Let's get a team together and start porting this stuff!
