What game(s) has the best music to be found on a HuCard? Both TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine games count here... ah what the hell so do SuperGrafx games with all of their unbelievable extra audio power that makes real life sound fake. I realize this is subjective, but I want to hear what YOU think is best. What do I think is best? That's tough as there is a lot, like:

Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu
Blazing Lazerzzzz
Dragon Spirit
Wonder Boy III errr... I mean Dragon's Curse

How about worst? Hard to say, but there are some games that sound like the NES or worse, like Legend of Hero Tonma. Sounds like a much lesser system than the PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16.

I don't have many HuCards, but I really think the music in both Super Star Solider, and Aeroblasters is really great. Stage 2 in Aeroblasters, and pretty much the whole game in SSS.
I really liked Neutopia II for some reason, I think its because the music was all pretty memorable in a Mario/Zelda sort of way and really fit the game. Dragon's Curse is the same, the music is incredible and catchy as hell.
I like Ninja spirit a lot - very spooky. On halloween, more than once, I've used the music select menu from that game to set the mood. And Alien crush, too.
Bonk's adventure's music (say that 3 times fast) is simple, but very nice, and
much as I would rather we got a 'real' bubble bobble game, the music in Parasol stars is also very nice.
And as others have said, Super Star Soldier is rockin!

The cool thing about Aeroblasters' 2ns stage music, other than how well it matches the level, is that it's totally original. The arcade and Genesis versions just have some ambient droning that can barely be called music.

To sum it up, I basically dig any soundtrack for the Turbo, whether it be HuCard or CD. It easily has my favorite VGM tracks :) . When I first got into the console, I knew there was something special about it because I thought each game I played had great music.
My favorite video game tune ever is played in level 5 of Legendary Axe, during the scene with the gorillas and Punjabis right before the Pits of Madness. That track always gets me pumped up.
I love many chip tunes, but if I had to select the best overall soundtracks, I'd choose these:

As for worst chip music, the tune that plays in the middle of each stage in Deep Blue (when it becomes ridiculously difficult) is probably the worst bit of cacophony ever composed. But it's also one of the reasons why I love the game!

I'd say dungeon explorer is by far my favorite when it comes to the music. It's the best thing about the game in my opinion. The music in each dungeon really gives it a nice, fitting atmosphere. Never beat the game legitemately but played through with invincibility partly to hear all the music.
Alien Crush is another very good one. I love how you have the choice of two tracks and both are very good in my opinion. I wish they kept this feature around for devil's crush. The tunes in that one are nice too but more is always better.
Other nominations would be Legendary Axe and Blazing Lazers.
As far as hucards with the worst audio tiger road comes to mind. That music always annoyed me.

Legendary Axe II tops my list, without question. Of honourable mention are Neutopia II, Time Cruise, Splatterhouse, Ninja Spirit (I'd play the tracks on the music player for hours!), Air Zonk, Sidearms, Sinistron, Turrican, Cadash, and Parasol Stars.
Time Crusie is a great what nod pointed out. All of those games made by Face had a distinct sound to them and I liked them a lot. They sounded more wavey/technoish, kinda like Genesis but different.

Speaking of our beloved Hani, I LOVE the song that plays in the first level of Hani on the Road! Another song I absolutely love is the song that plays in the first couple of levels of Gomola Speed! I think there were some other good tunes in Gomola Speed also, but man that first track kicks some ass.

A lot of people are saying that "Ninja Spirit" has good music. To these people I ask: "Where?" My copy of Ninja Spirit does not seem to have good music. It's just buzzing, basically. The melodies are, well, pretty much non-existent and the beat doesn't get you into the game (which isn't very good even if it had great music). I go into the sound test and listen and listen but I don't hear anything even remotely pleasant. There is a "tune" called "Theme of Shinobi" but it sounds nothing like Shinobi. Shinobi has always had much better music than this. There is also a tune called "Deep Blue" which is not even from that game!
So I ask again: Where is the good music in Ninja Spirit? Do I have to punch in a secret code?
I never really got into the Ninja Spirit soundtrack either, though it has a unique sound to it so I can see why it attracts other people. I do have to admit that the soundtrack does fit the game quite well and it didn't stop me from enjoying such a great game.
I mainly dig the boss fight track and the title screen theme from Ninja Spirit. I don't think it's one of the absolute best HuCard soundtracks, but if you really want to hear overrated material from a ninja game, listen to Revenge of Shinobi's tunes.
And I'm glad someone else mentioned Sinistron in this topic. Great music in that game.

Revenge of Shinobi's music is pretty poor, and not just because it was from 1989. The bizarre mix of FM and PCM used to create the tunes resulted in a muffled and sometimes "scratchy" sound. This severely hampers several melodies, such as "Make Me Dance" and "Ninja Step".
Even disregarding the technical inadequacies, the ROS tracks are simplistic and poorly arranged. One of the best -- China Town -- is pleasing almost by accident, as though Koshiro found a nice riff and just repeated it over and over. "Silence Night" sounds almost nothing like its original source material. And let's not even get started on comparing "The Dark City" from ROS to the superior version found in Gate of Thunder.

I guess it's really a matter of taste. I can understand how some people think 'taiko' drumming just sounds like some congo drums. Where as most people I see go nuts over any street busker blowing randomly into a pan flute while wailing away on an acoustic guitar, but it doesn't sound great to me.
Same with Riverdance & Lord Of The Dance or some of the celtic jamborees I've come across on T.V. where they're just playing to death variations on the same single riff for like 45 minutes. But millions love it.
Also I appreciate the traditional japanese sound, but I think that if you imagine the more melodic & fast Ninja Spirit music played by electric guitars, it would sound speed metal'y like Megadeth's Rust In Peace.
Plus, the music suits the levels pretty well. It may help if you play through the game several times before listening to the music on it's own instead of just picking out tracks.
A lot of it
is supposed to be ambient and it was obviously designed with the game and it's traditional japanese theme in mind. It's definately not j-pop'y like Shinobi.

Pretty much anything from Daisuke Morishima (1943, Coryoon, PC Denjin...) and Kōji Hayama (Moto Roader, Schbibinman, GaiFrame, Energy...). There has been a lot of talented PSG composers/sequencers on the PCE, but in my opinion those two were the best ones.
Although I have to say my personal favorite PSG soundtrack ever (on the PCE) is Batman.

I don't think Revenge of Shinobi used any PCM in its music. And none of the game sounded scratchy at all. How are you listening to it? I know some Genesis model 2's have an inferior sound chip which makes just about everything sound extremely scratchy compared to the model 1, and sound from emulators are not to be trusted, period. Ninja Spirit sounds extremely abrasive and buzzy to me. RoS is definitely not Yuzo's best work, but it's better than Ninja Spirit in both sound quality and composition quality.

Folks have mentioned lots of HuCards with great tunes, so I just wanted to give a shout out to Cybercore since it has yet to be mentioned.
The *only* problem with Cybercore is that the song for each stage is incredibly short and loops ad finitum. It would have been so much more awesome if the songs had longer compositions.
Still, Cybercore's songs are incredibly catchy, upbeat and complement the gameplay quite nicely, IMO.

totaly agree, super shinobi had one of the best ST in the whole MD repetoire!! i listened days and nights to it. even nowadays i can't miss it!
for ninja spirit: i like the tunez a lot. very simple and so typically IREM. i'm more the guy who likes suptile and atmospheric musics, may be therefore i like the NS tunez a lot. and i also feel the ninja theme is appearing a lot while listening to the sound. the boss theme rox enormous. such exciting!!

Since you guys bring them up... I've always felt that the main riff in Gate of Thunder's Dark City tune is very reminiscent of the main riff in "Poison Was the Cure" off Rust in Peace.
Cyber Core's music is very cool, especially the stage two tune. Psychosis is another shooter with good music that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet.

The Genesis has 1 PCM sound channel and it is used in A LOT of music like Streets of Rage 2, Mega Turrican and many, many others. But I think it's use was pretty reserved back in the early days of the system, and I don't recall hearing it used in music that early.

Batman is really amazing I keep forgetting about that game because the actual game IMO is a bit lacklustre... OMG if only they kepted the original platform game it was meant to be!!!

Yeah, the Amiga version of Impossamole's title theme is kick arse! I remember playing it on my friend's Amiga years ago, because I had picked up the Turbo version. I'd like to someday, take both versions of the game, melt them together(including adding the mine level that's in the Amiga version), & make the game way better, since it deserves to be better. Not every game I list here, is the best example of what the PCE can do musically, but, I love all the songs, in these regardless.

For me, Stage 3 is where the game hits its stride. Both visually and musically things kick up a notch and the gameplay follows suit with an Aeroblasters Stage 2 kind of high speed obstacle course without a shop break.
Like a lot of Ninja Spirit's music, Magical Chase's Stage 3 music wouldn't be as memorable if it weren't for everything accompanying it. When I think of Magical Chase, I first think of that level and song.

I used an Amiga music player to convert the title to wav format, but the free version only does mono.
The Turbografx version (recorded off of my Duo-RX) includes the full 5 minutes and 45 second song. The music in the game is actually pretty good(I haven't played it since it first came out), but it would've sounded better if they'd used a different sound effect during the title track(the SMS sounding one) or if it wasn't so rapidy.
The Amiga version has some real SFC/SNES'y sounding parts.

I agree that the Sega Master System instrument in Impossamole sounds really bad... worse than most Sega Master System games! There were a few UK SMS games that had the rapid-fire note blasting like that, and they sounded just as bad. Must be a UK thing. This is why they are doomed to get all consoles last... it is a punishment for bizarre stuff like this!
I personally prefer the Turbo's Impossamole theme over the AMIGA's; it's got a kick ass C64 sound to it. But yeah, PD and Odonadon's remix KICKS ASS!

The track "Deep Blue" has nothing to do with the game Deep Blue. Must you assume that the two have to be related? :P :D Also, for those that don't know...Deep Blue is the track that plays if you beat the game in Arcade mode...the ending is altogether different.
Ninja Spirit is simply one game that tried very hard to replicate traditional Japanese music, and IMO did a pretty good job for the limited hardware it had to work with.
My personal faves from the game are Dark Blue and Kessen.

I'm with you, it totally sounds sid-ish. The Amiga version "sounds" better, due to the better instruments, but it also sounds sloppy and a little bit like the composer forgot to do some quantizing or something.

Ninja Spirit is simply one game that tried very hard to replicate traditional Japanese music, and IMO did a pretty good job for the limited hardware it had to work with.
My personal faves from the game are Dark Blue and Kessen.

I agree %100. That PD Od mix was fun to listen to. Like 2 years ago, I was playing this game and thinking what an awesome techno song that would make. If I had any of the hardware necessary, I would have tried it myself. But that mash-up was awesome for being done so quickly! Well done.
I didn't know there was an alt ending on arcade mode! I have owned that game for almost 15 years, beat it countless times on regular mode and never knew. Of course I played it on arcade mode, but never completed it. I have to play it now!

In Arcade mode, you HAVE to use the hang-to-the-left strategy or you won't make it. What I do is get just far enough over on the ceiling to just clear the edge of the cliff on the way down, pull slightly to the right to just barely dodge two guys that are in the way (so you're still falling left but not at full velocity), then pull to the left enough to slip down between two lines of enemies.
Remember, in Arcade, one hit and it's all over.
What were some other Irem games that had the PC Engine and Arcade Modes? I believe Mr. Heli was one of them, is that all?

Populous sounds pretty cool. I haven't really played either of the PCE versions yet. Now I think I'll pick up the Genesis version(which I finished back in the day) to do a music comparison.
Legend Of Valkyrie(or whatever) is another PCE HuCard I haven't gotten around to giving a serious play through. I love the early Turbochip sound though. :)
Batman's cool, not just because of the tunes themselves, but because of the unique sound. Too bad we didn't get a game more like the alternate version. :(

Moto Roader II has an incredible sound to it, especially the song you posted, Digi.k. I love the distored guitar sound you hear in the background of that tune, it really adds quality to it and everything else sounds great too.
Thanks for uploading those. Are they recorded from an emulator? If so I wonder how they'd sound on real hardware, as I've never found emulation to be 100% exact.
Anyway, my highly anticipated opinions:
BATMAN -
Great tune, same tune that is found in the NES version (but much better here, of course). All Batman games had good music... the original Batman based on the first movie, anyway. That tunes sounds like it is closely related to "The Streets of Gotham" from the Genesis version.
MAGICAL CHASE -
Pretty good, but doesn't seem too memorable to me. I found myself skipping through it.
MOTO ROADER II -
Definitely some good sound quality here. I wish more PC Engine/Turbo games would have strived for sound quality such as this. I wonder why they didn't? The tune itself is good as well.
POPULOUS -
This is alright. Nothing tremendously special here, I don't think. There are some pleasant sounds to it, but the constant digitized clangy thing annoys me.
VALKYRIE NO DENSETSU -
I have no goddamn clue what a "Densetsu" is, but I'm glad this game doesn't have any. The title of this game kind of reminds me of ordering a cheeseburger at McDonalds (or wherever) without onions. Cheeseburger, no onions! Anyway the occasional chimes towards the beginning almost hurt my ears (physically) and I'm not even wearing headphones. And the constant buzzzzzz in the background doesn't sound impressive. The drums sound good. The melody itself isn't anything too special.
Anyway thanks for posting some of your favorites. It would be awesome if more people did that.

Moto Roader.. Masiya got much better with their music later on as well as Naxat.. but I honestly wished companies like Hudsonsoft and NEC pushed the system further as even some of their later games IMO just sounded lacklustre.. (compare bomberman 94 to 93's music)...
Valkyire: Some of Namco's early games some of the high pitched notes it outputs a bit distorted and scratchy at times but I still love it.

I've always been torn on which sound I like the best. Dragon Spirit music is good on both the arcade and PCE, but just depends on my mood on which version I like better.
You should check out the Dragon Spirit music played from the Dragon Saber hardware. Those are some really nice remixes. It would be interesting to compare three different versions.
Haven't checked the Salamander tunes yet, but I remember the PCE music being fairly faithful to the original.
EDIT: Ok, listened to the Salamander tracks. I like the PCE ones better. Hell, I think even the NES music rivals the arcade. The arcade sounds nice, but doesn't seem as upbeat as the PCE and NES... especially the area 4 music. The faster beat on the consoles make it much better than the arcade IMO.

Densetsu means Legend or Legendary. Like Ankoku Densetsu(Legendary Axe 2) means Dark Legend. Kaze no Densetsu Xanadu(Legend of Xanadu) means Wind of Legendary Xanadu, Seiken Densetsu I think means Holy Sword Legend, but don't quote me on that one :roll: I've gotten used to some words, so that I can sometimes figure out what the name means. Eiyuu Densetsu(Legend of Heroes) is Hero Legend :D
So I assume the English translation would be Valkyrie Legend or Legend of Valkyrie?

I just downloaded it and tried it. Ootake is pretty good BUT.. there's a big but.. Yame has record music to 'WAV' file which i can easilly make into MP3.. but again the problem is that HES files are not compatible.. >__<
From what I can make out so far on Ootake is the record.. records into a DAT file.. which I don' know much about..
Apart from that I think Ootake's default music output sounds very close to a real pc engine.

because the music files I've downloaded from various places are either in HES format or PCE file format. (mostly about 90% of the music files are HES).. and Yame only works with PCE.. so I can only record about 10% of those music games.
What I wish, is that there was someway to just rip songs into a wav format, rather then sitting there & recording them. That would make life easier :D

btw: today i bought a japanese Sega master system with the unique FM-chip set built in. i was just blown away from the warm'n'harm sound which flew over to my ears!! unfortunately i do not own any games at the moment, so i could only hear the fantastic space harrier song in the startup-title from the vers. 2.1. when i remember back in the time when i owned the euro SMS, the sound wasn't by far not that excellent as it comes from this machine!!

I always found the FM sound from the SMS somewhat weak. I prefer the PSG. The FM chip set supposedly has 9 channels yet they use maybe 3? I find it funny how some people absolutely hate how the Genesis sounds with an extreme passion but somehow love the way SMS FM sounds. :roll:

You could say I am one of those people, but maybe not that extreme :P . I wondered about that before and I think the reason is because a lotta people like me don't like the normal sound on the Master System and hearing something that sounds a lot more "advanced" on it makes the person think it sounds really good compared to the original soundchip.
but what i'm saying is, that the jap. sms sounds minimum a qadruple times better than the euro/us pendant. for those games which support the special FM-chip set. it's so a warm sound, never heard this before from an 8-bitter.
Actually it doesn't sound better (and certainly not more "advanced"), it just sounds "different", and I'd say worse and definitely more "drab" (or "dull" might be the better word... perhaps "flat"? I could come up with a ton of these). Like I said, the instrument polyphony does not increase at all, so it seems. I think a lot of people have a case of "You can't get this in the US so therefore I like the Japan-only version better because I am teh 1337".

sorry, just tried to explain my expierence i had to day for the first time. i owned a sms for several years back in those days, and i think, no..i can say with a clear conscience that the fm-tunez sounds a lot better than that what i've heard back then. just switched on the system and the lovely space harrier bgm was such tangentially, i was almost crying :cry:

Well, they have nothing in common. Why should you be surprised?
The MD's YM2612 is a cut-down YM2608 which sounds very metallic in the wrong hands. The SMS's YM2413 is the same chipset as in the MSX-Music (FM-PAK) extension. Its capabilities are limited, but it sounds definitely warmer than the Mega Drive FM. One could actually say that the FM-PAK is the precursor to the typical PCE sound.
Before I got a MarkIII SMS, I also didn't like the FM music. But that was influenced by my shock at hearing Phantasy Star in the Saturn PS Coll. for the first time way back when and the occasional emulated SMS game.
Once I got the real hardware and a few decent sounding games though, I've come to love good FM music. Miracle Waariors/Haja No Fuin is still the best I've come across(R-Type is
very cool), although the PSG soundtrack is still one of the best as well.
I'm still biased towards PSG, since I've been playing North American SMS games regularly for two decades now. But the MarkIII FM sound is great when it's used in a good way. Just like the Megadrive/Genesis.
Its definitely nice to have the choice of two versions of the same soundtrack in a game. And good FM sfx sound really cool too.
I have a Gamboy, -a Koreon SMS that is pretty much identical to the MarkIII SMS(it even has the same Space Harrier demo when you start it with no game), but is missing the FM sound. I use it to play MarkIII games when I feel like hearing the PSG sound.
I have a Tototek SMS to MarkIII converter I use play English SMS games with FM sound. This is the easiest and cheapest($15(?) for the converter) way to get to hear lots of SMS games with FM sound. Not all games work, support FM, even when the original version did.
So far the only way I've managed to get to hear the FM soundtrack to Wonderboy III is by playing Turma de Monica with the converter. WBIII doesn't work and I still have not found even a picture or a rom of a japanese version.
Unfortunately, WBIV doesn't support FM. :(

sorry, just tried to explain my expierence i had to day for the first time. i owned a sms for several years back in those days, and i think, no..i can say with a clear conscience that the fm-tunez sounds a lot better than that what i've heard back then. just switched on the system and the lovely space harrier bgm was such tangentially, i was almost crying :cry:

I do think that Joe Redifer's personal biases/preferences turn him off to the MarkIII FM just as mine once did. Maybe if no one cared about the MarkIII FM sound and never compared it to the Genesis and no one ever dissed the Genesis' FM, he'd be more optimistic towards it?

Well I don't know the technical specifics of each soundchip to say if one is actually more advanced than the other, but I'd say majority of people's opinions think the SMS sounds weak so naturally hearing the FM chip in it makes the person think it sounds more advance.

@keranu: yes, i feel it more advance compared to the non-fm one. anyway, basically it sounds really warm and touching. that's my personal feeling about it, if more advance or not doesn't matter in fact.

I agree it is nice to have a choice, but the only game I've heard (so far) that sounds better on FM than PSG is Alex Kidd: Teh Lost Starz. I personally don't think SMS FM sounds in any way like a precursor to PC Engine sound. The PC Engine sounds a bit more abrasive (and much better) than SMS FM where as SMS FM is smooth and flat sounding. The biggest problems I have with SMS FM is that the percussion is ALWAYS too loud and sounds really, really, bad. Fix the percussion and then maybe it'd be OK.
Why can't the SMS do FM and PSG simultaneously like the Genesis can and does? That would certainly allow for more polyphony. And can somebody explain why they don't even attempt to use all of the 9 FM channels it supposedly has? The SMS FM sounds like a weak Genesis to me.

I was only able to hear Phantasy Star I FM sound emulated recently, and it just blew me away right from the title screen. To me, at least, it clearly sounded hell of a lot better than the US version I played back in the day. (And I would've thought 100% of the people would've agreed, but maybe not... hmmm)

do use FM & PSG at the same time. They just don't use any more sound channels.
The sega mark III FM chip is ok.. reminds me of later famicom games with the special konami chip.. For really warm FM sound theres nothing like the Atari arcade games of the early 80's especially like paperboy and peter pack-rat ^___^
back to pc engine stuff Tatsujin should get a mention especially since I think the music is far better than the arcade and megadrive versions. The music alone makes me wanna buy the damn game as it fits perfectly with the action....

I agree that definitely sounds faaaaar better than the Mega Drive/Genesis version and better than the arcade as well. Were these recorded from actual hardware or from emulation/VGM?
Its from emulation.. you should try downloading Ootake emulator and listening to the music on that.. it sounds 99% exactly like the pc engine. these were recorded from Yame though as will all my pc engine music MP3s.
Does this Ootake emulator run .HES files? Where do I get it and where do I get the .HES file for this game... or does Tru... err... Tatsujin have a sound test?

It plays both HES and PCE files and I think the default keyboard keys are RETURN=start, SPACE BAR=select, Z=button 2, X=button 1.
Tatsujin has a hidden sound option too. Just score 7100 points and do a soft resent, next hold the select button while pressing start and u should access an enhanced options screen as mentioned by Rolins.

HES are stripped down PCE ROMs. Naming them HES instead of PCE just makes it easier to remember if they're the full game or just the audio data. Most emulators can play them if you rename them with a PCE extension. But most players/plugins will only recognize them if the extension is HES.
Gotcha. I downloaded the Ootake emulator and loaded up the HES file and I am not sure if it played or not (I don't have sound output hooked up to my Windows PC). I didn't see any way of recording it to a WAV file so I could transfer it to my Mac, either. I didn't even see any way to skip to the next track. I was just planning on having the emulator convert certain tunes to WAV based on name (Brave Man, Unknown, etc) and listening to them on my real computer.
Windows sound cards have 3 colors on them... blue, pink and green. Which is which?
When playing HES files with an emulator, the display remains blank. You can skip between tracks with buttons I and II, but that will prove difficult without a sound output.

Magicsofts Soundcapture is a great little free prog that records directly to mp3. No wav tho.
you can try yame but it don't have a dedicated site so you need to do a search.. last version was 0.38.

There are still many games I have yet to play, but I forgot Dragons Curse was on card because the music is so good.
I love some Fantasy Zone, but the music is ear splitting.

From the few Hueys I've got (most of my PCE games are on CD/SCD), I'd choose Bomberman 94. Both the battle mode theme as well as the world 1 theme are pretty catchy... too catchy.
Plus, it has got penguins in the ice battle stage dancing to the rhythm of the music. My better half thinks they're adorable.
I love MotoRoader and MotoRoader II soundtracks. Different, distinct works, but both quite nice.

Dungeon Explorer is in my Top 10 of all time...the songs in Dungeon Explorer really complement the gameplay and settings.
Two more games, which are very different, but feature songs that completely evoke the perfect atmosphere: Legendary Axe II (Ankoku Densetsu) and Legendary Axe (Makyo Densetsu).
PC Genjin 1 & 2 do this very well, too (evoking the perfect atmosphere).
The best-sounding music I've heard on the PC Engine (excepting some already mentioned here, like Tatsujin) is probably Parasol Stars. The boss theme (https://youtu.be/WYW5kdJc8iU) is legendary.
I gotta give props to Taito though. They went from having some of the worst-sounding (https://youtu.be/BWOq8ypkuo0) HuCards on the system, to some of the best (https://youtu.be/E2i9A9V8dck).
Other than that, Metal Stoker (https://youtu.be/g8A5jRpk6CI). FACE made many mistakes and terrible games on the PC Engine.* Luckily they struck it out of the park with some NEO HARDBOILED SHOOTING! - audibly and visually speaking. And the game is good too, a shocker for their non-arcade outings.
*I just had to remind myself of how fucking terrible Alice in Wonderdream/Fushigi no Yume Alice was. Blech. At least it had a good soundtrack. It's not enough to actually go and play the game (aside from a curiosity on an emulator), but it's something!

The original compositions were LEGENDARY and even the SMS version sounded much better, not to mention the Famicom version sounded AWESOME. I think this was NEC Avenue's first published game, but still this is unforgivable.
As I'm sort of a collector of CD games I haven't tried many HuCard games, but I remember that Cyber Core had some nice tracks (probably not stellar, but still nice), and the arrangements in Salamander held up well compared to the Arcade version.
Dungeon Explorer has possibly my favorite Hucard soundtrack. The music is very fitting to the atmosphere and makes an already great game even better.
I thought Atlantean had a fantastic soundtrack. Nice job, Arkhan.

Cyber Core's songs have very short loops, but they are pretty damn nice.
