Konami has announced Bombergirl for Japanese arcades.
Described as a four-player cooperative battling title, the game obviously drops the Bomberman theme for a totally moe one filled with girls. It's also worth mentioning it seems like there's clothing destruction, because why not.

Looks like Bomberman Act Zero with a cutesy/slutty theme.
To be fair, Hudson themselves didn't exactly shy away from Moe girls and fan-service when making Galaxy Fraulein Yuna back in the 90s right? (Heck, they've even put Bomberman in there in the swimsuit contest)
That said though, these characters look over-designed as hell, which isn't a very good thing, and yeah this is totally a bastardization of the franchise...

Video didn't look terrible, but the characters seemed to move too slow and the perspective seemed to obscure the stage. With that said, this is closer to the actual games we were hoping to be made, so I would give it a try and hope for the best.
See? And you guys thought all the classic Hudson IPs would be cynically recycled into lowest common denominator shite by the new [what's left of] Konami but I said NO! NO! You guys need to give it a chance! Well, those of us who did have our hopes up were rewarded by what looks to be probably something that will probably not cost very much and usually run. The bombs might be cool too. Clearly haters were shown the error of their hater ways and have hopefully learned that it's ALWAYS a good idea to trust art to accountants.
Btw, I'm still missing Sonic the Hedgehog (360) so if anyone has a spare copy to give me. I have some Valis hentai and 15 copies of Final Fight Streetwise for trade. PM me.

All that said though, when Hudson was making Yuna they weren't cashing in on a nostalgic IP and bastardising it, they were making something new...
And even when Hudson did "bastardise" an IP, it wasn't a nostalgic cash-in, and it even turned out better than the source material (Adventure Island and Dragon's Curse anyone?)

It looks so slow. Bomber games should be frantic.
These new bomberman characters seems a lot more likely to give you an STD than to cause you to explode.
Since it's an adjunct game and not the main series, the cutesy girl theme doesn't bother me. It's the low camera angle and slowness that make it look not so fun.

Like necro, my biggest concern is how slow it seems to play in that video.
