looking for 2 suggestions. can either be for PS3 or X360.
first, i am trying to find a mindless FPS. not heavy on objectives/missions, i just want to kill shit. NO online play either. I have played through bulletstorm campaign twice already, but something along those lines. just mindless shoot.
second, an arcade racer. not something with RPG elements where i have to build up the car. i just want to hit the gas and steer. the midnight club series is a good indication of what i am looking for, but i have one of those already. not looking for any outrun suggestions.
any thoughts?
Play VANQUISH
someone else can handle the racer part for you.
Vanquish for the shooter, though it's 3rd person. Bulletstorm is a good backup
Try Bur for the racer

thanks for clarifying Vanquish, i had never heard of it. but i am looking for first-person.
i assume you mean "blur"?
I don't care what you are looking for PLAY VANQUISH...eventually.

The best version of Daytona USA was released digitally(?) for both consoles.

Bruh.
THERE'S A SMOKE BREAK BUTTON.
and yes, Blur. idk what happened there.
the Farcry games are good, but they're open world-y so idk if that works for you
Killzone 2 might be my favorite shooter on the system
Also maybe a bit story heavy, but FEAR was really good, though i never played 2 or 3

are the killzones mission heavy?
I'm not sure what you mean by mission heavy.
it's certainly not paced like Bulletstorm though, you gotta use cover
Sonic & Sega All Star Racing and Sonic All Star Racing Transformed. Better than the Mario Kart games IMO

Da good shit.
@Gynt You play the Resistance games yet? I enjoyed those. Also if you liked Bioshock then Singularity is a pretty solid clone.

wanted to LOVE bioshock, but you have to control the camera. forgot to mention it cant have that. i cant use right stick. bulletstorm had like an old-shool setting or something where you didnt have to control camera much at all. otherwise i wouldnt have stuck with it.

Good shooters:
Bioshock -story heavy, but fun stories to play through
Singularity - story heavy but great atmosphere
Prey - Story heavy but unique level design and fun
The Darkness - another story heavy one, but you get some fun and unique abilities
Call of Duty Advanced Warfare - best call of duty........ biased :P

Only played on Wii U, but was maybe my favorite game at the launch.

you may well be completely SOL on that then.
I mean, there's a handful of fps games that use the move, that might be worth looking into.
I will say the sonic racing games were pretty good, though I've only played the PC versions

move. lol.
Burnout Revenge is a pretty damn good racer. Has a decent sound track too.
Fallout 3? Well thats more of a rpg/first person shooter hybrid but still oodles of fun..
Black might fit the bill for a shooter. You don't have a button to open doors. You just use your shotgun. It's actually a PS2/Xbox era game, but some quick internet research says it's one of the original Xbox games that are playable on 360. For racing, I'll second Burnout Revenge. You can knock cars out of your way by rear-ending them.
I suggest something completely else. Skyrim, played in First-Person perspective, fullfills my need for mindlessly killing anything that gets in my way. And there's still Call of Duty 2.
For racing games, try Forza Horizon 1. Gorgeous graphics, tight controls and a good soundtrack. And if you're bored of the same music over and over again, just stream OutRun tunes from your USB flash drive to your 360.
But don't even touch the shitty crippled port that calls itself Forza Horizon 2 on the 360.

thanks. one of the girls in DoxPhile chat also mentioned horizon. but i wasnt warned between 1 and 2.
that helps.

I just mentioned "Forza Horizon", never mentioned the sequel since I never played it on said system. gynt wasn't going to pay the premium Forza Horizon 2 commands for the 360 anyway, he is a cheapskate!
Mercenaries for the FPS.
Sega Rally Revo, I don't remember having to tune anything.

Serious Sam HD?
The Sonic racing games are great, but they do feel very Out Run 2ish.
