Seriously, you need to ban ALL .ro accounts! Ban Russia altogether! That'll get the bots off this site!

I banned all Russian email addresses from one of my forums once. It's the only way to go to stop Russian spammers; furthermore, no one from Russian wants to come to these forums. :D

Yeah I'm joking too. Aaron really needs to install some those mods BonkThis posted before the board starts to get flooded by them. Does Aaron even ban the IPs of these spammers? Last night another spammer had posted pseudo-nude pics of Britney Spears twice. Christ my eyes are still burning after that.

running a PHPBB board myself I can tell you banning IP's doesnt work. I've banned whole segments and they just keep coming and coming. the spammers use some sort of bot to just flood the boards because they all have the same sign up fields. So implementing some changes to your registration sheet should foil the majority of them. I also think on this board the members arent approved by mods so once they join they can post their nude britney spears pics till someone notices.

The member list def needs to be pruned.

Hi guys.  Yes I ban and yes I've been parsing the member list (but not in the last few weeks).  I hope to get time this weekend to implement further security into the board to stop the spam.  Please bear with me.

thanks for the effort - if it's half as hard keeping spammers out of here as it is keeping them out of my mailbox, I don't envy you.
