Someone asked this question, and I had a hard time making a definitive list. How many (simultaneous) multiplayer beat-em-ups were there on the PC Engine/TG-16?

Here's what we've come up with:
Anesan
Galaxy Keiji Gayvan
Double Dragon II
Cadash (sort of counts)
Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari
Altered Beast (HuCard version)

Are we missing anything??

Does Bonk 3, Juoki and Horror Story count ?

Bonk is a platformer, horror story a run n gun, and altered beast doesn't have simultaneous multiplayer, right? So no to those, unfortunately :\ added Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari though!

I was ready with some sweet suggestions then I saw PCE only. Sweet list so far. I enjoyed Anesan. I should burn off Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari.

oh, I mean turbo as well, but yeah, not just beat-em-ups in general. it does seem as though there are very few of them!

Here's a list of most if not all the two-player co-op games.   It's stolen from Mr. Game Sack Joe.  I don't see any that you missed. That might be it. Unless you sorta want to include things like parasol star, popn magic, Cho anki . . . all of which I don't really fall into the beat em up area.

While the CD version is 1-player only, the Hucard version does offer 2-player simultaneous gameplay.

that's a cool list, turboswimbz!! It's missing a few things, but still a nice start.

and right, I always forget about the hucard altered beast!

China Warrior is a supreme powerhouse of gaming.

The Power Console version of The Kung Fu/China Warrior is just MASSIVELY awesome. You can step on E-Honda and Sagat as if they are midgets!
