Post by: Nazi NecroPhile on 05/04/2018, 02:06 PM
Anybody have any use for this stuff?  I've got 30 floppies that appear to be new/unused and 2 x 256mb PC2-4200, 4 x 512mb PC2-4200, 2 x 512mb PC2-5300, and 1 x 4gb PC3-12800.

One day, I need to get a 5,25" and 3,5" drive again. Just for shits and giggles. And to fondly remember times of the past.

I might have some use for the ram, I will double check tonight and get back to you.

What's wrong with floppies?

I started using them again earlier this year off and on after finding an iomega external usb drive for a few dollars.  It allowed me to pick up a few games and test an existing copy of one game I've had in the bottom of a box forever.  GoG doesn't always get stuff, and the lame abadonware sites sometimes lack stuff or at least working copies of things too.  Spare floppies would have a use if you had one of those old games and one of them died of old age, you could recover the disk online then copy back to the replacement disk.

Not much interest, eh?  I hate to trash 'em, so find me on discord if anyone is interested.
