Tried to power up teh Duo after many years of disuse and not getting any power output from the AC Adapter. Opening it up, the fuse is blown. The coil smells like it may be cooked, but I was wondering if anyone could test a good one and give me the ohms reading between the plug prongs. Mine reads 36.7 ohms.
The four diodes appear healthy but give inconsistent readings.
D1 2.88 Mohms
D2 2.62 Mohms
D3 2.99 Mohms
D4 2.94 Mohms
Eric!? No way, and your account logged in fine without help! Wow, welcome back! ; )
Sorry to say it's pretty much a skeleton crew here (namely me). :loldog:
Hm, as to your problem, I still have my original Turbo Duo PSU, I'll see if I can find it for you later. I bought a modern one with internal regulation from Bernie since the OG is just a dry transformer, 4 diodes and a smoothing capacitor. I figured it's better for internal voltage regulators if the exact needed voltage is coming in.
But yeah, I think I can actually help you with this one.

Doing my part to drive traffic!!
Curious the resistance you get. Seems mine is very high for a transformer coil but who knows.
I've got a replacement cap and fuses on the way.

Yep, checks out!

Thanks a ton for checking!
If the new fuse and cap don't solve the problem it sounds like the Duo itself will have to be sent out for repair.
The Duo has a fuse near the power switch, hopefully that didn't blow too. I dunno if you opened up the unit yet, but yeah first things first if there isn't even power.
I dunno, I think the only reason to keep my US Turbo Duo is for localization testing with real NEC hardware. For actual playing I'd rather do so on my LG OLED with an Analogue Duo via a digital connection. I don't care about CRT/RGB anymore, not for a long time anyway.
