
While American console launches are rife with shootings, muggings, stampedes, and generally poor displays of human behavior, the Japanese console launches are, at worst, a display of gross otaku fashion and greasiness. Well, I suppose there's that whole mafia hiring of homeless dudes to camp out for PS3s and Wiis thing.
Sadly, now there are cosplayers posing as official Nintendo mascots. Allegedly, this Luigi fan wiggled his way into one Yodobashi Camera launch event, taking part in the festivities in a very unofficial capacity.
After handing out the first Wii and acting very Luigi like, it seems the Nintendo superfan's true identity was discovered and he was quickly escorted from the store. Man, those Yodobashi staffers look pissed! Michael McWhertor
