This was on digg:
Clumsy Model mishandles and drops 2,500 year old Chinese Mirror on TV Show (http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2174421.html#)
This is something I expect to happen much more often. Thankfully, it doesn't.
For example, when I watch "Antiques Roadshow" on PBS, there are usually at least 2-3 moments when I feel the "expert" appraiser is too hasty to point out the details of an item. I cringe as they recklessly whip around extremely fragile / valuable items.
I feel bad for the Chinese model: had it been any other gig (i.e. fashion show, laundry detergent commercial, etc.) she'd be fine ...
Haha, that sucks! Worth over £500,000 too!
That poor chick, at least she's not Japanese or she'd have to kill herself.
That person is a person that some person should know. Of course, this is irrelevant to it all.
Damn...
- So, how was your day, baby?
- Oh, I just broke someone's million-dollar antique piece...
And considering this is China, million dollar to them is probably like a billion dollar to us!
I wish there was a video of this. That's popcorn entertainment right there! :)
My little brother was telling me about some video he saw online of some fancy super expensive thing breaking that was hilarious. I'll have to get the link from him later.
That's the thing about watching someone break something priceless: it's tragic amusement. You know you shouldn't laugh but you just can't help but laugh at the poor tool for pulling off something that you'd expect The Three Stooges to do. :P
