Which is better?
Option 1: Dragon's Lair

Option 2: Dragon Slayer

I like Dragon's Lair for what it is, but I also like Dragon's Slayer the Legend of Heros (or whichever the hell one came out on the Turbo in the US, I simply can't keep track of them all). I think Dragon's Lair is perhaps a bit more dragony.
Wait, are you referring to the FMV Dragon's Lair, or the side-scrolling spinoff of the FMV Dragon's Lair?
Either!
Dragon's Lair, it actually made laserdisc players USEFUL.
Dragons Lair i didn't even know there was a Dragons Slayer FMV game!?
I'd say dragons lair, that game was pretty awesome.
I haven't played the old FMV Dragon's Lair game yet, so I voted Dragon Slayer.

What do you mean by that? Laserdisc players are a fantastic media format for watching movies and ever since I got one, I find it more useful than a DVD or VHS player.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I recall you jumping on someone for incorrect spelling before, referring to "definitely" I believe. Shame be upon you for this one, Joe!

Actually, the correct english spelling is Legend of Gyro's! Silly Falcom doesn't always translate things correctly, Dalk Fukt comes to mind!
And, Dragon Slayer all the way!
I'd take Dark Fact over Dulk Fukt any day.
Dragon Slayer's a better game, but Dragon's Lair is definitely more "dragony".
Playing through Dragon Slayer II right now (about 2/3 of the way through). Not too impressed with this one. Game progresses way too slowly, and even when you characters are properly equipped and leveled up, a weak peon takes 8-10 hits before you kill it. It puts way too much emphasis on level raising & money collecting. As average it is, Part I is still a much better game.
never played dragon slayer, but it must be better than dragon's lair, which is UTTER SHIT. ](*,)
it singlehandedly destroyed LaserDisc as a format.
Both are bad games, but I chose Dragon Slayer, because it isn't
as bad.

Yeah, is that from the SMS version of Ys? I remember looking at the instruction manual not too long ago... but I thought it was some other name...
The Master System box says Dark Dekt, the game says Dulk Dekt. Neither of these translations were made by Falcom, nor was Malificus.
I don't think Falcom ever intended the name to be Dark Fact though. They've NEVER used that translation themselves. AFAIK, only Ys 1-2 TG uses that name.

Yeah same thing Michael said applies here. Let me know what you have (PM or whatever) and I might buy some if they interests me.

As retarded as it sounds, I think is
is supposed to be Dulk Fukt. Multiple Japanese sites romanize "ダルク・ファクト (Daruku Fakuto)" as "Dulk Fukt", and even Falcom's own site hints this (look at Hugo "Fukt") for the official Ys Origin website here (http://www.falcom.co.jp/yso/character.html).
Personally, I'm glad they made him "Dark Fact" in the TCD version as opposed to "Dulk Fukt".

He's just referred to as "Dalk" in the Falcom Classics (Saturn) game manuals.
Naw, Xanadu is Dragon Slayer 2. The "Dragon Slayer 2" you're talking about is Dragon Slayer 6 part 2.
The Legend of Xanadu is Dragon Slayer 8, whereas The Legend of Xanadu 2 is Dragon Slayer 8 part 2.
Meh, let's make the obligatory list for this to make any sense whatsoever...
Dragon Slayer 1
Dragon Slayer 2: Xanadu
Dragon Slayer 3: Romancia (aka Dragon Slayer Jr.)
Dragon Slayer 4: Draslefamily
Dragon Slayer 5: Sorcerian (there are like a million different Sorcerian scenarios for Japanese computers)
Dragon Slayer 6: The Legend of Heroes
Dragon Slayer 6 pt 2: The Legend of Heroes 2
Dragon Slayer 7: Lord Monarch
Dragon Slayer 8: The Legend of Xanadu
Dragon Slayer 8 pt 2: The Legend of Xanadu 2
(+ Dragon Slayer Gaiden for Game Boy)
Note! The Legend of Heroes 3 and up is not part of the DS series, neither is Faxanadu, Xanadu Next or any other game that's related to either of the games in that list. Only those mentioned are part of the DS series.

You're entitled to your opinion about Dragon's Lair, but saying it ruined laserdisc is BULLSHIT. The game showed how laserdisc could be used creatively, it also showed it's great video quality. Unfortunately, it also showed how the arcade environment was not suitable for a laserdisc player, and so people shied away from the format, because they thought all the players had shitty build quality.
Except for the fact that the home is a lot better for a laser disc player than an arcade. However people weren't going to realize that.
So in summation, Dragon's Lair didn't ruin laserdisc, stupid fucking mongoloids ruined laserdisc.

Romancia seems pretty fun, I could be wrong, so it might be one of those titles we'll hack & patch n' stuff, put it on the Turbo, in english, with better graphics & music :D
Romancia sucks. A lot. Don't bother trying it out.
One's on laserdisc and one's on the Turbo - therefore Dragon Slayer gets the win (it's more fun too).

Yeah (http://forumz.tomshardware.com/games/Laser-Disc-Players-forum-88.html) I (http://www.dragons-lair-project.com/community/forums/board/) believe (http://laserdisc.proboards86.com/index.cgi) so (//http://)...
Yeah, what the hell's this lazerdisk thing y'all are talking about? :-"
You're not gonna believe it, Ethel, it's a record player, that PLAYS MOVIES! IN COLOR GOSHDARNIT!
Keranu, I can't see my OUTBOX in my PM folder, so I can't just cut and paste the titles which I sent him (he was only interested in my RF Demodulator because he enjoys demodulating RF. Hell, who doesn't?) Is there any way that I would be allowed to see the PMs I've sent so I could copy and paste and send one to you? You're a mod. FIX IT NOW! Oh wait, you probably have to be an Admin to do that.
Joe, it's on the left side of the MY MESSAGES page, just below the Inbox text. You can also use this link to reach it directly:
https://www.pcengine-fx.com/forums/index.php?action=pm;f=outbox
If you don't click this one box your outgoing messages wont be saved in the outbox. I think this is what happened to joe.
Actually messages are saved in the outbox by default.
Yeah, there are no messages in my outbox. I checked earlier. And I never deleted it. I even checked my outbox right after I sent it and before Michael read it, and it wasn't there. I recently just sent him another PM and it isn't in my outbox, either.
I see the box Turbo D is talking about. That seems odd, it should be checked by default.
PS - I copied and pasted the text from another forum I posted it on long ago and sent Keranu a PM.
Sorry I can't do any actual forum change stuff, only the administrator can. I received your PM Joe, will reply!
BTW, the ultimate laserdisc game is the one that needed the MSX hooked up to the laserdisc player, what was that called?
Oh yeah, Star Fighters. I just like it for the graphics and music...

Those old laserdisc games were so high tech looking. My favorite is M.A.C.H. 3 (http://www.atarihq.com/coinops/laser/mach3.html), which the inferior After Burner game shamefully rip offed :) .
By the way, that Star Fighters game looks sweet! I didn't know there were any MSX games that used laserdiscs.

Astro Belt, FTW...
I liked Firefox and Galaxy Ranger.
I know I probably shouldn't, and if I were to play them today I would be appalled.
What about Cube Quest and Interstellar Laser Fantasy?
I mainly like the trippy CGI laser games.
Oh and unless I'm WAY wrong here, there was some laserdisc game by Taito that used the anime Ninja Scroll as it's video, and it was never released over here although we did receive a censored PS1 port. It was called Ninja Hayate, I think? There was also a game called Chuck Rock which used a Lupin the III anime movie, and some Space Cruiser Yamato game (WAVE GUN!).
EDIT: Aight so I WAS way wrong, Ninja Hayate is 1984 and is a completely original (and mainly family-friendly) anime, Ninja Scroll is 1993 (way past the laserdisc game novelty years) and would require HEAVY editing to be shown in arcades.
So Ninja Hayate did NOT use Ninja Scroll as it's video, my bad.

Whoa, stop. Tell me more about this Interstaller LASER Fantasy. This could be the coolest game ever made.
ISLF is really nothing to swoon over, I just like the CGI...

Oh and btw, the Chuck Rock game was wrong, my bad, I meant Cliff Hanger, lol!
Jesus Christ.
INTERSTELLAR LASER FANTASY? And it is a LASERDISC game?!?!?!
I don't think anyone could ever come up with a better name in the history of humanity. We might as well press the button to launch the ICBMs, this game was the apex of human civilization!
Yeah if you call a time-limited on-rails space shooter with alright CGI the apex of human civilization... the graphics are a tad better than Cube Quest though...
The only worthy of note thing about the game was the canyon scene - it was created by taking a large styrofoam disk and blow torching a path through it, and then running the camera through it...
The gameplay is secondary to the title of the game in this case.
INTERSTELLAR LASER FANTASY
