LOL. What a great site.
I guess those Chinese authorities don't want their peeps exposed to the awesomeness of the PC Engine.
I'm just typing in random mundane sites, and it looks like they're all blocked. Internet must suck real ass over there if this is all true.

Oh it's true, here's another site I go to:

That's it, we're now officially bombing China.
Nobody cares about China. Well maybe Wal*Mart does.

Yeah, I don't think this is very accurate.

Damn the guy is loaded on PCE goods.
The heck with bombing, China this collector should be rand sack for whoreing it all :P
I don't trust this site (greatfirewallofchina, that is).
This is real, if you all want to be idiots and say it's fake, then fine. But it's real.
Prove it.
Quoteif you all want to be idiots
Oh yeah! Well I'm an idiot, and I don't give a fuck if the Chinese can get to this website or not. Only suckers would move to China and the poor saps already living there can't read this thread anyway, so who gives a flying fuck? :-s

.
Tell me then, why the hell would the Chinese government block a no-name site like Lazer Dorks?
Trust me, this site is broken.
That website looks like a right bag of shite.
Anybody know of any important chinese websites? Are they blocked as well? :P
Quote from: Seldane on 05/11/2007, 07:53 PMAnybody know of any important chinese websites? Are they blocked as well? :P
More importantly, do the Chinese actually
have websites?
*ahem* I live in China. As in, right now. As in, on this website posting on the BBS.
China has a great amount of history and culture, despite anything the current government is doing, which in all honesty is one of the most short-lived governments in Chinese history.
That website, by the way, is absolute nonsense. Looks like someone is out again to make China look bad.
Every country has their own shame, and are not always proud of what they do. None of the websites are blocked here.
The Chinese internet is huge - with about 400 million online users, what do you think? There are Chinese websites for everything, just like in the west.
The only major website I can think of that is blocked is wikipedia, mainly because a bunch of people were posting articles about the communist party. So they banned it.
For the record, I have no problem going to any of the sites I frequent.

Yeah, umm... I'm not going to believe that without knowing your IP address.

So if I call you a communist will they ban this site, too?
Let's find out, you commie pinko bastard. 8)
I can't vouch for the accuracy of this site, but you're nuts if you think that Wikipedia is the only large site being blocked. Hell, look at how Google censors itself to keep China's government happy: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4645596.stm (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4645596.stm)

Nah, you need to do something like this:
六四运动
六四事件
六四
法轮功
法轮大法
There we go, that should do it! 8)
Kitsunexus: As far as you believing or not believing me, that's entirely your prerogative. Not really sure what it would prove by lying though...unfortunately for you I'm not out to post my IP for the world. In the time being my ISP is the Chinanet Yunnan Province Network. Or did I just pull that out of a hat?
So far as censoring goes, I know the extent to what things are censored. I know about google, I know about yahoo.
The thing is, I don't care, because I also know what proxy server is. There. Circumvented. Me = 1, CCP = 0.
Not to mention other countries actively censor the internet. Vietnam, South Korea, Laos, Iran, and many other Arabic countries. Saudi Arabia and the UAE do this as much if not more than here.
Nat:
So far as the 6.4 incident, of course here it's a big thing. The anniversary is coming up soon...
As for FLG and that movement, they actively sought to undermine the power of the CCP. I'm not saying it's right or wrong (personally I believe it's right) but I'll say anyone
brave enough to publicly demonstrate against them should know the possible consequences. Not to mention simply typing those words doesn't do a thing. There's plenty of websites that talk about them, of course in favor of the CCP, so no matter. It is what it is.

It's not the fact that I don't believe you, I agree, you'd have nothing to prove by lying. However, there are some people who just want to stir shit up. However, since I've never known you to be an asshole, in fact a rather good guy, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Sorry for being like this, it's just that old addage about trusting no one, etc...
No offense taken, Kitsunexus.
I just say it like it is. China isn't a paradise, but nowhere is perfect.
Anyone who even is aware of outside information knows how to get it anyway.
It's true, on the internet anyone can be anybody they like.
However, I'd like to believe that the PC Engine community is basically composed of good people with a shared fondness for classic games.

That's pretty much true, for this forum anyways. The Magic Engine forum gets a pretty big dose of lameasses from time to time though.
Maybe this site is blocked in China because the chinese have a bootleg version of pcengine-fx.com that they can use.
LOL Y U NECROPOST SO MUCH!?

Yeah we let this thread die a LONG time ago, at least I have. So I really dunno.
The last post about this before mine was on May 19th. It's not that old!
If it were on say...Jan. 19th, that would be more understandable.
