I download some music, but the best way to get legal music is to buy used CDs. That's what I do, you get an official legal copy of your music that you can rip, and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.
Plus, you don't have to settle for whatever bitrate the ripper chose, yo ucan rip however to whatever you want!
