Are there any good homebrew games out there for the PC Engine, like there are for some of the earlier systems like the Colecovision and Atari 2600? I downloaded a bunch of homebrews in a zip file and found it was mostly demos, which I'm not so interested in.
No, there are none. The PC-Engine died a long time ago. Get over it, and try out the DS scene which is still active.

Head on over to Zeograd's Lair (http://www.zeograd.com/), and check out the few homebrew games in the downloads section. There isn't a whole lot of great homebrew for the TG-16, except for the quasi-professionally done games from MindRec, the upcoming Mysterious Song from Frozen Utopia, and Mr. Covell's forthcoming Tongueman's Logic (made with real bits of tongue, so you know that it's good).
