Title: I want to clean my duo and some HuCards, any recommendations, tips, etc?
Post by: rag-time4 on 09/03/2007, 03:21 PM
My Duo almost never boots up HuCards first try...

I've had my HuCard converter for less than a year and it looks as bad as my NES games did before I started cleaning them.

Is there a cleaning kit that anyone recommends for the Duo and the cards?

Would I be better off opening up the system and cleaning the contacts by hand?

Any info appreciated!

I've never had to clean the contacts inside any of my Turbo systems.

I use a fine-grain metal nail file on the contacts of my cartridges (HuCards) and this swiftly eliminates any problems from anything that's been giving me trouble.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Works great on the contacts of the HuCards and does wonders cleaning systems, even the white systems.

I actually wash them by hand. Although they'd be fine in a dishwasher, I don't think that it'd do a good enough job.

I just happened to recieve the illegal pirate bootleg HuCard I bought a while ago today and its filthy. Maybe I'll take a few photos as I clean it to show how well it works. :P

I tried it with my filthy raiden; washed in the sink with the sponge as if it were a dish or cup. Came out nice and clean and worked great  :D I was worried at first, but something had to be done about the filth
