A cartridge based console that later features a CD add-on. Why not make it a single unit! It was done with the TurboDuo (https://web.archive.org/web/20061207130353/http://darkwatcher.psxfanatics.com/console/turboduo.htm), the Sega CDX (https://web.archive.org/web/20061207130541/http://darkwatcher.psxfanatics.com/console/segacd.htm), and the JVC X'Eye (https://web.archive.org/web/20061207130541/http://darkwatcher.psxfanatics.com/console/xeye.htm). Why not do it with Atari Jaguar (https://web.archive.org/web/20061207130541/http://darkwatcher.psxfanatics.com/console/jaguar.htm)? That appears to have been the intentions of Atari.
In 1995 Atari began displaying the Jaguar Duo to developers. The Duo would have contained the features of both the Jaguar and Jaguar CD. It is unknown however as to whether the Jaguar Duo would have featured any additional enhancements.
Rumors also began spreading about Atari's "Next-Generation" Jaguar II. The device was in development stages, and a prototype motherboard had been shown at computer gaming conventions. The new console would have been backwards compatible with Jaguar. The console would also out do it's 5 processor predecessor with a total of 7.
The reverse merger with JTS sealed the fate of Atari Jaguar, and so the Jaguar Duo and Jaguar II became vaporware. Since Jaguar Duo is vaporware we have maintained the specifications of the actual Jaguar and Jaguar CD

lol, I came across that the other day. Too bad it never got released
I swore that was some kind of Kitsune Photoshop at first glance. I love how they called it Jaguar Duo ;) .
Wow!!! The Jaguar Duo? That is sooo much better than the faggy TurboDuo. People think the TurboDuo is sooooo great just because it has awesome games. Fuck that shit! The Jaguar plays music CDs with a digital light show! Jaguar Duo is the way best Duo evar!!!
*sniff* *sniff* What's that smell? Oh yeah, that's sarcasm.
Perhaps Atari should have put their money into quality game development rather than new hardware.

Michael, don't tell me you like the TurboDuo just because it has good games. Who needs good games? Not Atari!
I actually like the Atari Jaguar library. All of it. ^_^
