Back in '91 I was living to the extreme with these shoes, but then my gargantuan feet grew out of them, a couple years back they decided to re-release them, but I found out too late and so all I have is a picture of the ultimate shoes to play Turbo Grafx games with. Maybe someday I can track these down in a size 11, but for now its just not the same with the higher energy video game system.

Damn...
those are bad-ass, I wish I had them =P~
Dude! I seriously had those shoes back in like 1992 or something.
Those were awesome! I had the exact pair in the pictures, but look what I found, this is more "PC Engine" shoes than Turbo Grafx:

:o dude those are sweet!!! =P~
I had a pair of Reebok Pumps in elementary school :D
I would seriously rock a pair of those if they bring them back again.
Ahh, those take me back. I had a pair (erm, of Reebok Pumps...) back in 1990. Vanilla Ice was cool for like 2 weeks, then Snap's The Power rode out the year in style!

That's the thing, They DID in fact bring back a whole bunch from the pump line sometime in 2005, but somehow I did not learn about it until much later, I have no idea what the hell I was doing when I missed that news, probably women are to blame I am sure. But now I don't know what the hell I should do, those glow in the dark mike chang editions are still availible, but they are 200 dollars plus shipping from japan. I was more into the basketball ones than the tennis ones, but even the tennis ones are awesome.
A guy from work brought in a pair last week. I think he just has them lying around. :? They're pretty sweet. But the PC Engine sneaks are saaaaweeeet. I want a pair.
Who the hell wears shoes to play videogames? First thing I do when I got in the house, then and now, is take my shoes off. (we should have an icon for stinky feet. )
QuoteVanilla Ice was cool for like 2 weeks,
Vanilla Ice was never cool. In fact, he made the world a little less cool by making a public fool of himself. Perhaps he made America not cool enough for the Turbografx.

BANNED.And those shoes are a HELL of a lot better than these:

Guyjin perhaps you should take a step back, re-evaluate your life and ask yourself "Could I be living each day more radical and to the extreme??" When you discover the answer is an indisputable "No", Perhaps then you will learn to appreciate pumping up the 1991 reebok blacktops and playing bonk's revenge.. after that.. you will reach the level of becoming radical, the next level is of course bumping vanilla ice on your cerwin vegas, and then my friend, you will be living radical AND to the extreme.
Good luck, and may god have mercy on your soul.
Oh man, those shoes are awesome. I'd totally love to wear those while playing some Turbo Grafx 16 with the dude that's on the box. We'd be having a helluva time.
I have cerwin vega speakers!!!
Jordache and L.A. Gear were the hotness for Turbo gaming.... oh yeah and don't forget Spalding.
I used to have Reebok pumps! and I think i also had Micheal Jackson la.Gear ..
I had the LA Gear that had lights that lit up when you walked, haha. They were the coolest back then 8)
I used to have a pair of black LA Gear "Regulator" shoes, it was like the pump, only instead of an orange basketball on the tongue, it was this very large half circle shape that said regulator, they seemed to hold way more air than the pump. I hear LA Gear is still around, but now they suck.
LA Gear was the shit!
I have a baseball glove with THE PUMP on it
I found it abandoned at a field one day so it cost me nothing. You can't buy this stuff in stores, baby!
Can I have your pants?
That is off-topic, I don't answer off-topic questions O:)
but those are his retirement pants, haha.

BTW, I have just realized that this point has not been stated as of yet, but it is an important point to realize, so here it goes.
The title of the thread (The ultimate turbo grafx gaming shoes! (Sold Out) ) is both inaccurate and racist.
To say that something is "the ultimate" brings a sense of requirement to the table, and this is not true, simply because it has been proven possible to play the TG-16 without shoes. So to say that "these are the BEST shoes to play TG-16 with implies that you have to play with shoes, even though they may be sub-par shoes".
Secondly this is racist because the Japanese don't wear shoes, and if they can't play the system because they don't wear shoes then they might be price dumping like Jack Tramiel warned us about and we should BOMB THE MOTHERFUCKERS AGAIN! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!
Now back to your regularly regular regulated regimen of discussion.
I wear/collect old school Nikes, Reeboks & LA Gear. + wear tons of vintage 80s/90s clothes.. I'm fully dedicated to that shit - late 80s nostalgia doesn't just end with video games for me.. Maybe I'm regressing.. back to the 11 year old in 1991 ,,
Japanese people do not wear shoes!!!!!!!!!! lol you mean inside right? :)I never wear shoes inside, first thing i do coming into the house is to take my shoes off.even in other peoples houses.

Word.
Yeah, I meant inside, my bad. I ALWAYS wear my shoes inside. Not for any special reason, just that I DON'T LIKE TO STEP ON SCORPIONS WITHOUT SHOES. :x

Word. Texas taught me to check my shoes for the little beasties before putting 'em on (the shoes that is, not the beasties).
ya, you gotta watch out for those satanic death spiders. Remember those nasty pix someone posted 8-[

At first I thought you were kidding, but then I remembered not everyone here lives in the tame environment that is Seattle.
I've never had to live in fear of Scorpions in my shoe. That would be disconcerting, to say the least.
The pacific northwest is the best, no snakes, no scorpions, only like 1 or 2 venomous spiders, hell I don't think we even have any bears big enough to be scared of.

Yeah, the only thing you need to really worry about is if you go out deep in the wild, there's a rare chance you could encounter a bear or a Cougar and even then you'd only have trouble if you startled them or something.
Quote from: nat on 11/14/2007, 06:20 PMI've never had to live in fear of Scorpions in my shoe.
But do you have to check 'em for salmon?
No.
If I leave my shoes outside overnight, I'll usually find slugs, snails or jerusalem crickets inside. I hate jerusalem crickets :x :x :x

WTF is a Jerusalem cricket!? A cricket that's too cheap to cheep?

Oh, those things! That's how I've heard of them, "children of the earth".
We have these nasty little buggers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_scorpion) out in Texas as well.
I wish we had these (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scolopendra_gigantea) but we don't. :( I would name him Charlie.
I blame atari for us wanting centipedes and millipedes, haha

you're being redundant.
they're technically Tetris shoes, but I think they're 90's enough for turbo playing.

Dear god, those things are ugly. Not even a pair of neon orange TG-16 shoelaces could save 'em and make 'em cool.
yeah, those are more like cereal aisle shoes or maybe office-supply aisle back to school shopping shoes. you gotta get some stickers and a pencil sharpener if youre wearing that shit
No way those shoes rock! Okay so the whole strap buckle thing is pretty dorky, but those colors rock my world!
