Title: Looking for high quality logos
Post by: 1010101 on 11/21/2007, 01:43 PM
Hello.  This is my first post here so be gentle...

I'm looking for some high quality logos for some PC Engine related stuff.  Can anyone help me out?  Specifically, I'm looking for hardware logos (ex. ShuttleGrafx) and format logos (ex. the orange triangular Arcade Card logo).  I already scoured http://brandsoftheworld.com/ (http://brandsoftheworld.com/) and got everything there (PC Engine, Super CD-ROM², CD-ROM System, and TurboGrafx-16 logos), and I did a decent custom job of the SuperGrafx logo (not a vector image, but it looks good anyway), I'm still trying to get some others:

ShuttleGrafx
CoreGrafx, CoreGrafx II
Turbo Duo
DUO-RX
The above-mentioned Arcade Card logo
PC Engine GT
PC Engine LT
etc, etc, etc

Because I'm sure someone will want to know, the reason I want them is just to make some wallpapers for my desktop and laptop.  I've been fascinated with game system logo designs ever since I first saw the PC Engine logo in EGM way back in '89 or '90.

Here are a couple of real simple ones in case anyone might want them (both 1024x768):

Welcome aboard!  Sorry, but I can't help much.  If you're interested, I think that I have a couple of the case spines in .dwg format.

Welcome aboard and thanx for the wallpaper  :) I can't really help you find any good logos though. I have actually been looking for some recently for the same reason, haha.

I'd love it if you could shoot them my way.  Thanks!

Glad you like them.  Here's a variation on the PC Engine logo one if you're interested:

You could always find some low quality ones, import them into Adobe Illustrator and make vectors out of them.  As you know, vectors can be scaled to any size without any resolution loss, even bigger than the planet earth!

If I were a supervillainous genius, I would make a laser powerful enough to draw logos on the moon... and draw the supergrafx logo on it.

Yes, that's what I did for the EPS logos/pics at the bottom of my page:

That's probably where that weird logo site got the PCE/SCD etc files from in the first place.  :D

Well, it just so happens I am a supervillainous genius, so I stole your idea.  Here's the proof:

Awesome.

Also, you realize it was a reference to "The Tick"?  :)

The Tick?  Bah, Cobra Commander had the plan back in the 80's...
