Title: What about Kattobi!?
Post by: Sinistron on 12/27/2007, 12:45 PM
Supposedly Tonkin House games are garbage- however I wouldn't know.  I can't find any reviews of this and it's cheap as hell to buy as a loose hucard...  Anyone? :?:

I can't help you here, but I will say that I have a game called Cyber Dodgeball that's by Tonkin House, and it fucking rocks.

Hmmm.  Well I was pretty much going by PCEngine Bible's take on Tonkin-

"Tonkin House, the creators of such great games as....erm....umm...whatever"

Though Tatsunuko Fighter looks like a game I'd enjoy...
Well since Kattobi! is $7 from Dreamstars I guess I'll buy it and review for you guys.
I usually put my reviews on PCECP as CreamOfTheColada- I did short reviews on that site for every game that I own- just over 150...

Cyber Dodge does look pretty slick...

Okay I just bought it (along with Spin Pair and Doraemon- I have Cratermaze but my girlfriend is in love with Doraemon- just bought her Doraemon slippers and a doll for Christmas).  I'll let you know if it's any dang good.

Yeah, it has good music, nice graphics, killer arenas, and the gameplay isn't too shabby. How could you go wrong? I've never had the chance to play it with another human (always vs. CPU) but it's a blast every time.

keep away from that one, if you like to enjoy your system a little bit longer. and also it became quite expensive over here (~3000yen) for such a crap.

Okay received this last night yet couldn't figure out what to do- though I could tell that if I KNEW what the fork I was doing I'd greatly enjoy it.  PCECP says no knowledge of Japanese is required but that doesn't appear to be the case- as the instructions you're given when dispatched are in Japanese.  The people you stop and talk to speak with Japanese text.  I was just riding, scooting around aimlessly slamming into cars and the like.  Looks like a nice beefy game though with save option and 3megs.  Anyone know anything about this?  I really want to enjoy this- and Tatsujin- are we speaking of the same game?  I picked this up for 7 bucks- and what do you mean by

no, i mean it ironically, since playing too much of such crap could damage you're good relation to the system  there will be no damage to the hardware itself, of course.

the game became expensive over here in japan, so 7 bucks is a good price, at least for puting it into the collection :)

Sylphia is a Tonkin House game, that alone makes them a decent company.  8)

sylphia was programmed by compile, that why it's a decent game :!:

Has that been proven yet?  We all knew that Compile's music composer worked on Sylphia, but I
thought there was still a huge debate on who made the actual game.  Either way, even if they only
published Sylphia, it still gives them some respect.   =D>
